Achievements and Performance

Between 1st June 2023 and 31st May
2024, UKMKA has achieved tremendous
milestonu, enriching the Ilves of its
members. strengthening community
ties, and supporting those in need. Over
the past year. the charity has fostered
unity through
various
religious
observances. including celebrations for
Eid ul-Fitr and Eid ul-Adha, which
brought tha communlty together In Joy
and
gratitude.
UKMKA
also
commemorated the blrth of Prophet
Mohammed (PBUH), refiectlng on hls
teachings and values, and observed the
Islamic New Year. inspiring reflection,
renewal, and connection among Its
members. These spiritual gatherings
have nurtured cultural bonds and
deepened the Sonse of unity withln the
community.

Sporting activities have been a major
hlghlight of the year,
providing
opportunltles for engagement and
fostering teamwork. UKMKA'S key
sporting event of the year The Kumbhar
Football Tournament revived thls annual
event after a 15 year hiatusl The event
bought together over 100 compatitors
involving 10 teams from player ranging
from 6 years old to players In thelr 50sl
There were two tournaments: An adults
tournament and a youth tournament.
The winners of the two tournaments
Adults - Leicester Foxes
Youths - Bimiingham
Thls was a proud moment for the all our
community both, young and old and
from neighbourlng cities. The winning
Youth team was the first team from our
Birmingham community to ever win a
sports event trophy
The tournament was a great success for
the UKMKA and the wider community.
We have already begun plans to expand
the football tournament into a wider
sportlng and famlly fun day out for our
communi
in the Summer of 2024.

Listening to the feedback and interests
of its members, UKMKA coordinated
meanlngful trlps. including visits to
Handsworth
Cemetery,
allowing
participants to pay respects to their
loved ones. These outings fostered
ramembrance
and
connection,
strengthening the emotlonal bonds
within the community. For the younger
members, UKMKA hosted a twfrweek
summer club dadlcated to arts and
crafts, a program that thrlved thanks to
the time, skills, and dedication of
volunteers. This success led to the
launch of an Arts and Crafts Club,
welcoming both adults and children to
explore their creativity and share skills
across generatlons.
The charity also Jolned In festlve
celebrations, such as the Gregorian New
Year, marked by live music and food to
welcome the year In an atsnosphere of
joy and inclusivity. Alongside these
activities,
UKMKA
ensured
the
continuous upkeep and improvement of
Its premises. One notable achievement
was the creation of a peace garden in
memory of a beloved trustee who had
sadly passed away. This thoughtFul
addition includes a gated area for
prlvacy. soft tamiac, and a play aroa for
chlldren. providing a serana space for
reflactlon and enjoymenL
UKMKA has also remained steadfast In
its commltment to charitable work,
raising funds for both local and global
causes to support thosa in need.
L¢)oking to tho future, the charlty Is
planning a series of exclting events,
includlng a Qawwali gathering to
celebrate
cultural
and
spiritual
traditions, a blgger and better football
tournament to bulld on past successes,
and a Uganda Road Show to highlight
the charfty's global impact. UKMKA also
aims to continue its fundraising efforts
and collaborate wlth other organlzations
to maximlze its positive Influence on
soclety.
Through its wide array of activltles,
UKNIKA
has
demonstrated
an
unwavering commitment to enriching
the livas of its members, fostering a
strong sense of community, and making
a meaningful difference locally and
loball . Its achievements and future

plans underline the charitys dedication
to creating a supportive, vibran( and
inclusive environment for all.
