Bewdley Festlval Llmlted Report of the Trustees forthe Year Ended 31 December 2024 OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES Athlevements H￿hlIghtS of 2024 Include: In October we held 17 events across a fan8e of arts Sncludlng muslc; comedyi fllrn; drama and Spoken word. We wek0Th￿d both local and Internatlonally known acts. Artlsts enjoy performlng at our events. Our audlences are very welcornlng and thanks to the tremendous work done by our oryanlslnE commlrtee and our volunteers, events are professlonally run. Muslc e¥enln8s Included the world famous Aled Jones and Ruby Turner. Whllst the Bath Abbey Cholr brought to Us a wonderful evenln8 of choral musSc at St Anne's Church. Comedy from Alfie MO0￿ and Natalle Haynes, thought provoklng evenlnEs from Jane Garvey and D)r￿n McGèrvey tO8ether wlth a ran8e of other events, meant that we had a stron8 pro8ramme acro￿ many facets ol the arts. For the 17 events held In the maln festlval we sold Just over 2,100 tlckets, whlch was 70% of the tkkets avallable. Th1515 500 fewer than 2023 when we dellvered 3 more events. Although we face ever Increaslng costs, we made every effort to keep our tlcket prlces as affordable as posslble. We used four local venues and 8ttracted sponsorshlp from over 30 local companles. Over 100 people117%1 replled to our customer que5tlonnalre. We were pleased wlth posStlve feedback we recelved. The overall satlsfèctlon ratln8 was 92% wlth 96% of Customers sayln8 they would come, or probably come, to our events agaln. Bewdley Youth Festl¥•l IBYF): remalns a very Important part of Bewdley Festlval and somethlng we want to grow. The Wyre Forest Young Muslclan of the Year Is a regular event In the Festlval calendar. As part of Youth Festlval In 2024 we trlalled 2 new events: Step Into Storles: our flrst one.day festlval In Apr51, held partlcularly for chlldren up to 12 years old, was full of performances from some ol the best authors, poets and storytellers In the chlldren's story world today. Nlneteen events held across 8ewdley In one day provlded a reol kjglstlcal challenge but It was a 8reat success. Our thanks 80 to Ed Shed and The Elmley Foundatlon for supportlnB the day. One Earth: after 15 successful years of Hop Fest unfortunately the venue was no longer avallable. To Blve the local youth the platform to showcase thelr muslcal talents, a one day muslc and sustalnablllty event for the whole famlly was or8anlsed by 8ewdlty Festlval and The Bewdley School. Over 20 local acts performed dufln8 the day. Whllst the event was well organlsed. the Infrastructure costs and low tlcket ￿leS coupled wlth the lack of sponsor5hlp and grant 5UPPOrt resulted In a dlsappolntlng flnanclal loss. Followlng a full revlew, the Trustees have declded the polky for one off events wlll be amnded to guarantee any external fundln8 Is cornmltted (rather than promlsed) before the project ts approved.
