We report on the accounts of the Centre for Perfornjance Research Limited for the year
ended 31° March 2024.
As described on Page 4. the trustees are responsible for the preparation of the financial

sratements for the year ended 31 March 2024 set out on pages 3 - 1 O and they consider
that the company is exempt from audit under the provtsions of s. 477 of the Companies
Act 2006 ('the Act,).
We report that:
l. The accounts of the company for the year ended 31° March 2024 are in agreement
with the accounting records kept by the company under the Act, and
2. Having regard to, and on the basis of, the infomiation in those accounting records,
those accounts have been drawn up in a manner consistent with the provisions of
the Act so far as is applicable to the company, and
3. Having regard to, and on the basis of, the inforniation in the accounting records,
the company satisfied the requiremeryts of s. 477 ofthe Aci for the year ended 31,
March 2024.

The Irustees, who are also the direcliws of the charity for the purposes ot the Companies Act,
pr&gent their annual report and audited financial statements for the year ended 31" March 2024.
The tTUSiees have adopted the provtsions of the Statement of Recommended Praclice (SORP)
'Accounting and Reporting for Charities. issued in October 2013. in preparing the annual report
and financi￿ statements of thc charity.
Objecis of the charity? principal aetivities and organisatlon ofour work
The charity is constiluled as a company limited by guardntee and is therefore governed by a
memorandum and articles of &ssociation. The charity's object and principal actlvlty continues to
be thai of the promotion arKI development ofthe arts.
The charity is organised so that the trustees meet regularly to manage its affairs.
Developmenc activities and aehievements this year
The company continued ¢0 focus its activities on its specialist publishing programme and book
sales and to pursue ils charitsble objectives through this pr(MJuction and dissemination work.
The following is5u¢s of volumes 27 and 28 of the specialist journal Performance Re.feai'ch were

New book publications appearing during the year under the publishing imprint Perfomiance
Research Books, which follows and expands the policy of the PerformancL. Re.fearch,IcJui'iiul
were." In Pi'ai*e ofsideways." SIoiyielling.lourneys ofthe Ruih Kanner Thealre Gra￿, edited by
Adi Chawin and Richard Gough. which is the first comprehensive attempl to present Ihe virtuoso
perfomiance practices of ihe Ruih Kanner Theatre Group. Throughout twenly-five year5 of
innovative work, RKTG - based in Tel Aviv but also perfonning all over Israel and
intemationally- h&8 perfected a unique fom) of storytelling theatre. and A £￿1(.017 ofihe Central-
Ea.slern Eurupean Inlenvar Theatre Avanl-Garde, which presents different aspects of the theatre
avant-garde prO￿arnMeS, projects and achievements that took place between the two World Wars
in a region of Europe thal, squeezed beiween the two mighty ￿werS of Germany and Russia,
experienced similar historical danger5 of marginalization and (in many cases literal) colonization
and conquest.
The development of new title% for future publication continued during the year. Negotiations for a
new owner and host for the CPR Resource Centre, 'The Cabinet. and other collections Continued.
A small dispersed team continues to be coordinated from the oifice base in Aberystwyth. The
Trustees are especially grateful for the efforts of the staff and the General Editor, Richard Gough
in delivering the increased publishing progrnmme.

Details of the movements in fjxed assets are set oul in Note 7 lo the financial statements.
Reserves
The trustees have deterniined that the free resen￿ held by the organi5ation will need to support
the operation of the charity during a period of fund raising to generate additional unrestricted
furth towards futu￿ programmes.
Risk Review
The trustees actively review the major risks which the charity faces and believe that systems are
being put in place to mitigate exposure which, combined with the raising of additional
unrestricted funds, will provide sufficient resources in the advent of advers¢ conditions.
Directora and Trustees
All directors of the company are also trustees of the charity and the￿ are no other Iruslees. The
tn￿te￿ have the power to appoint additional truslees as they consider fil lo do so.
Stqtement of trustees. responsibilittes
The trustees are required by company law to prepare financial statements for each financial year
which give a true and fair view of the financial activities of the charity and its financial position at
the end of the year. In preparing these financial statements the trustses are required to:

State whether the policies adopied are in accordance with the Companies Act 2006 and
with applicable accounting standards and statements of recommended prdctice, subject lo
any material departures disclosed in the financial statements

assume that the chariiy will continue in operation.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with
reasonable acLuracy at any timc ihe financial position of the charity and enable them to ensure
that Ihe financial statements comply with the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for
sat"eguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking re&sonable steps for the prevention and
detection of fraud and other Trregularilies.

The financial st8*ments are prepared under the historical cost convention and in accordance
with the Financial Reporting StandArd for Smaller Enlities (effective January 2015) and the
Companies Act 2006. In preparing the financial slalements the charity follows best prnctiC¢ a5
