## Annual General Meeting

Year ended 31 March 2019

Held on the premises on 9 July 2019

## **1) Annual Review :- Year ended 31 March 2018**

The three house-groups run by Andy & Bev, Tim & Lin and Joyce have continued throughout the year as has the ladies evenings run by Sue, the monthly Prophecy Group meetings run by Joyce together with a new once a month on a intercessory group meeting Thursday evening run by Jason. Reports from each of the leaders will come later on.

We have also continued our morning tea & toast gatherings on Sunday mornings which have grown in popularity and now is a great feature of our church family life together….again, many thanks to Sue & Andrea, and others who step in from time to time for the way that they serve and bless the family each week.

Tim started up a monthly gathering of those men in the church who occasionally enjoy a glass of ale and a curry…..and most of the last Friday evenings of each month this year have been spent in the Swan Inn followed by curries of various levels of hotness being enjoyed at Spice Fusion on Shell Corner….long may they continue, I say!!

2

Our first church family event of the year came just a few weeks into April when we had the joy of baptising Janet & Michelle…..they were both touched powerfully by God with Michelle coming up out of the water being filled with the Spirit and then speaking in tongues just a few days later.

Following the decision last summer, we have continued to run Sunday evening meetings throughout the year, with just a break in the month of August. They have proved most worthwhile, with many visitors from local churches that do not have evening meetings, enjoying a variety of visiting speakers, video teaching nights, intercessory meetings and the very popular, extended worship nights, on the last Sunday of each month.

Several years of major building works finally came to a close during the year with the eventual completion of a brand new, modern glazed entrance porch together with signage on both the building and within the car park area. Much appreciation is given to Joan Betteridge who has spent many, many days on site dealing with all sorts of issues as they have arisen over these past few years.

We have, again, had a good many visiting speakers throughout the year, including visitors from OM, Loaves & Fishes, Bernd Scholz, Isaac & Beate, Faith & Dennis from Flame and, of course, Graham McClellan from Northern Ireland. Graham, has, in fact, become a regular visitor of at least once a month and has been involved in training and mentoring of many within the fellowship. With his particular gifts in these areas, we have established a Ministry Development Team that meets quarterly and we continue to look at the whole area of mentoring any who are seeking to grow in their gifts and ministries.

Graham also organised an Irish Outreach event for us in November with Noel Mills and his band from Northern Ireland and we all had a wonderful weekend. A few weeks later, Andy Dawes, together with Frankie & the Flames, ran a support evening for Grange Mission raising funds to help them stay afloat and before we knew it, we were in to our Christmas Celebrations, with a meal out together at the Fairfield Inn and Carol Services, again, with Graham bringing gospel messages.

The New Year of 2019 started with much sadness and heartache as we had three funerals in succession during January and February, starting with Brian Millsom and followed by Cheryl Mc.Clellan and Dot Nicholls. We are, however, comforted by the knowledge that they were each believers and are now in the Presence of Jesus for all eternity….and we shall all one day be together again.

None of us know the future…..God purposely did not give mankind that gift…..He calls us to a walk of faith…..learning along the way that He is utterly trustworthy….and although we might not always understand what is going on….we can know in our hearts, the truth…..that He is at work in all things together for the good of each one of us who believe….and as we look forward to another year…..let us look together with the eyes of faith and hope and expectancy…..for God is Good…..all the time….and all the time….God is good!

Every blessing to you all for the coming year.
