Report (Incorporatlng the Trustee8' Report) The directors and trustees present their report and the examined accounts for the year ended 31 March 2024. The directors have adopted the provisions of FRS 102 in preparing the annual report and financial statements of the charity. Constitution, objects, policles and publlc bonofft The principal activty of the company continued to be the operation of a Citizen's AdvKe Bureau. The company, which is a company limited by guarantee, is a registered charity estsblished for the promots'on of charitable purposes for the benefit of the communty in the area of Tameside. The organisation ensures that all sefvices are available to the general public and people in povety are not excluded, as no fees are payable. The charty has an addrtional aim of ensuring that irKJMduals do not suffer through lack of knowledge of their rights and responsibilrties or the services available. or through an inability to express their needs effeth'vely. These aims are achieved through trained volunteers gtving free. confidential, impartial and independent advice to the local community. These objectives main unchanged from previous years. The company is a member of the Nab'onal Associats'on of Citizens Advice Bureaux and adheres to their policies and principles. Perfomiance, actlvltl•8 and future dev•lopm•nts The company receives grants from Tarnese MetrOlItan Borough Council, the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS), and other changeable funders. The defTrcit for the year amounted to £37,579 (2023 surplus: £24.928). Total reserves stand at £250,749 (2023 £288,328). These reserves are camed forKard for the furtherance of the charty's objectives in future years. The accounts have been ppared on a going concem basis, as the funding for the next financial year has been provisionally agreed. The company plans to continue to expand its servIL, in part by attracling extemal sources of funding. Reserv In accordance with Charity Commission recommendathS the company tries to maintsin reserves sufficient to meet at least three months running costs. This has been achieved as at 31 March 2024. Oryanl8atlon The charity is administered by rts board of directors, who meet regularly to decide policy. New directors are appointed by the approval of the board.
