Chairperson's Report

The 2025 season is nearing its conclusion; it has been another strong season for the Steelers teams; the Premier League Team currently have a 6-4 record. The Division 1 Team have a 10-1 and the Division 2 have a 11-0 record and all three teams will qualify for the end of season playoffs in Worcester which is a fantastic achievement .

We again entered the Euro cup and were put in Euro League 3 qualifier And went to Italy where we had a tough Friday losing both games one game by only 1 point. On Saturday the team rallied and won both games but unfortunately finished third and did not qualify for the Finals in Turkey. I wish to thank the team for their contribution to the cost of the

Trip which greatly helped the club's finances. The Academy continues on a Saturday morning

The work with Schools and the local community continues to grow and The Sessions at the Sheffield Sharks are ongoing

The Steelers were recently nominated for a move more inclusivity award in which we came in the top 3 in our category we have also been nominated for Two awards at the Disability Yorkshire sport awards to be held on the 25th of April it is great to see that the work we do in the community Is being

recognised. The collecting team continue to go out on street collections and super markets .we also have had a couple of Fun days organised by Kev Hayes And the Tuck shop continues to Thrive we are also having a Race Night on 10th May Thank you to all the members involved in these activities as it generates much needed Funds for the club and we would not survive without their help and dedication.

I would like to thank the committee for their dedication and efforts. Without them the Steelers would not be the successful club we are today. It has been a challenging year especially with the passing of Maurice Hammerton, our chairman ,coach ,fundraiser, and Paul Gregory, former player and coach, both much loved and respected members of the Steelers family and will both be sorely missed .

I would just like to wish good luck to all our teams for the remainder of the Season .

No matters arising

Secretary Kev Hayes read through the report.

Secretary’s Report

Results over the past year have been covered in the Chairman’s report, so congratulations to everyone involved, players, staff and volunteers. Also my condolences go out to Maurice’s and Paul’s family, they will be missed.

Season 2023/24 went well and season 2024/25 is going well too administratively speaking, we are getting round playwaze ok, fixtures got sorted rearranged etc, stats for premier league or going well so a big thank you to Jarad for this, but we still need volunteers for stats table officials etc next season so if anyone feels like stepping up please do.

Season 2024/25 we entered three teams into the national league, Premier, Division one and Division two we were just short of players to enter a team into Division three.

Thank you to Jan, Wendy and Karen for running the tuck shop on game days and fun days , it makes much needed funds for the club, spectator's and players appreciate your effort and commitment you put into it.

Also, a massive thank you to the committee, Alison, Steve Ryan, Jan, Wendy and Steve Owen for your effortless work behind the scenes which not many people see but if it wasn’t done the club would not be able to exist, also Maurice is included in that list for all his work he did for Steelers, thank you to Richard and Richard for sorting live-streaming out it is appreciated from so many people. Also a massive thank you to Alison for all she does on game days, as treasurer and all the work she did for the Euro cup. I would like to thank Richard Sargent too for his help in coaching and all the other stuff he’s done behind the scenes and Steve and Steve for their coaching on the undefeated Division two team. Thank you to everyone who makes the game days possible for us all to play the sport we love. table officials.

Thank you to all whose collected-on streets and supermarkets and Wendy and Jan for organising the race night which is coming on May 10th so get your tickets. We always need to fundraise to keep this club going from strength to strength so any ideas please speak to a committee member.
