## **1] Statement of Management Committee** 

Report of the Management Committee for the Year Ended 31[st] March 2023. The Management Committee members are responsible for preparing the report of the Management Committee in accordance with applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Standards requiring the members to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the organisation and of the incoming resources and application of resources, including the income and expenditure, for that period. 

## **2] Management Committee Report** 

The Bangladesh Women’s Association was introduced in 1971 to help BME women in Small Health to improve their lives. The primary aims are to relieve the needs of mentally and physically handicapped children and their parents, relief of people in necessitous circumstances, meet the educational needs and develop community relations. In the delivery of our aims, we operate from our own community resource centre located on Coventry Road, Birmingham and work in partnership with several local community, voluntary and public sector organisations through a bespoken referral mechanism and joint working models. During the 2022-2023 Financial Year, we have engaged and supported over 500 women with securing their welfare rights entitlements, increasing their employability skills, and providing centre based learning and social activities. 

## **Financial Review & Reserve Policy** 

Income for the 2022-2023 FY was £51,457.50 & expenditure was £45761. The trustees have examined the charities requirements for reserves considering the main risk to the organisation. The reserves are needed to meet the working capital requirements of the charity and the trustees are confident that at this level they would be able to continue their current activities in the event of a drop in funding. 

## **Moving Forward Plan** 

In the sustainable development of the Association, the management committee will: 

- Continue to build on strengthening partnership working. 

- Seek revenue funding to deliver essential community activities. 

- Seek capital funding for the renovation of the community resource centre.

## **3] Independent Examiner's Report** 

## **Responsibilities and basis of report** 

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the Community Advice Service for the year ended 31/03/2023. As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011Act) and that an independent examination is needed. 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the management committee concerning any such matters. 

The procedure undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in a full audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts. 

## **Independent examiner's statement** 

I have completed my examination.  I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect: 

- the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or 

- the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or 

- the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
