Its popularity increases as we<br>continue to improve facilities. Many villagers<br>now come to the site just to enjoy the playing<br>fields. The field is well used by dog walkers,<br>many of whom are elderly and find difficulty<br>walking.<br>The field is adjacent to the village fishing lake,<br>whose members use the hall for meetings.<br>We make ourselves available for to other<br>charities to hold fundraising events e.g Ryedale<br>Special Families who use or facilities as part of<br>a 2-day cycle event. A similar music event was<br>planned but was cancelled due to Covid.<br>The members have liaised with the FA<br>regarding field improvements and work with<br>them to improve and maintain the playing<br>fields.|

constitutlon adopted on 01 June 1987 and amended at subsequent Annual General
Meetlngs In 1988, 1991, 1994, 1995, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2011 and 2018.

The Trustees form the Executive Committee of the charity. The members of the Executive
Commlttee are elected at the Annual General Meeting by the members of the Charity, and
usually remain in office until the Annual General Meeting next followlng thelr electlon. At
the end of thls term they can stand for re-elettion. All members are clrculated wlth
invltatlons to nomlnate Trustees in advance of the Annual General Meeting. There is a
provlslon for the co-option of additional Trustees If requlred.

purpose of relaxation and wlth the objett of Improving the condltlons of life for the sald

To contlnue to encourage use by the public and new groups for any sporting and
recreational purpose.
To further improve members/users facilitles such as the community hall and playing

In association with the FA to provide increased performance for the sports SUrfa￿S
and provision of our own field Maintenan￿ equipment.
To developi Wlth the assistance of the village childmlnders, a community garden for
children and wheelchair users.
To apply for funding to build a new communlty based extension to the building.

Review

Durlng the year we have undertaken the following activities:
We have provided facilities for 6 senior football teams, plus junior team.
Tennis teams of mixed sex and age.
An archery section of mixed sex and age.
A cricket sectlon wlth one team of mixed age groups.
Developed a club for sporting and social activities for'seniors,.
The sports fields have benefitted from 'tining', moss/weed killing and appllcation of
fertilizer so as to improve playing surfaces.
Astro turf tennis/football Surfa￿ has been cleaned and re-juvenated to ensure
longer Ilfe.
Flood lamps have been seNlced and malntained to ensure they comply with H & S
rules and glve longer Ilfe for use durlng the evenlng.
Chlldren's soft play takes place 2, 112 days a week, when posslble.
There is a weekly whist drive, usually attended by more senlor cltizens.
A qulz nlght every month.
New Senlors Youth club providlng mixed social and sportlng actlvlty for'senlors,
Hall used regularly for children, partles and meetings.
A new fitness class Is held on a weekly basis,
Use of hall by furnlture restorlng group,
Table Tennis nlghts
Soclal coffee mornlngs developed by members of the local rellglous groups
Financial Review
It is the aim of the Executlve Committee to retsin one years, core running costs in the
unrestricted general fund to ensure a sufficlent buffer to enable effettive financlal
decision-making, rather than short term decisions and the charity wlll work towards
achieving this.

Trustees Responslbilities
The Charities Act requires the Trustees to prepare financlal statements for each financial
year. In accordance with the Charity Commission Guidance the Trustees have eletted to
prepare the accounts on the Receipts and Payments basis. This is an ac￿ptable format
for all non-company charities with an income below £250,000.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which dlsclose wlth
reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to
ensure that the financlal statements comply with the Charities Att 2011. The Trustees are
also responslble for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable
steps for the prevention and detectlon of fraud and other irregularities.
Statement of disclosure of Information to Independent Examiner
The Charity has an Income belween £25,000 and £lm and therefore Èlls under the
Independent Examination regime. We, the Trustees of the Charity iyho held office at the
date of approval of these financlal statements, each confim so ftdr as we are aware, that:

we have taken all the steps that we ought to have taken as Trustees in order to

Restricted Funds (continued)
The Football Foundation - Adult Steel Freestsnding Goal Pack
Restricted funding of £1,252 was received from The Football Foundation, to help towards
an Adult steel freestandlng goals pack. The Football Foundatlon contributed 750/0 of the
costs, wlth Hutton Cranswick Sport and Recreation Association required to provide 25 %
match.
East Riding Yorkshire Council - Active Creative Grant
A grant for £1,345 was received from East Riding Yorkshire Council to help support Sport,
Play and Arts related activity.
Hutton Cranswlck Warrlors Football
Restrlcted funding of £2,000 was received in the prlor year from Tesco Bags of Help in
adminlstered by Groundworks towards the Hutton Cranswlck Warrlors Football Teams Sn
2019, there has been no expendlture against thls during the year.
New Bulld - Brick Appeal
Hutton Cranswlck Sports and Recreatlon Associatlon are raising fund5 for the purpose of
building a new purpose bullt modern bulldlng to enable them to enhance the faclllties and
offer a greater cholce of attlvltles.
Fundralsing for this was started off wlth an appeal whereby people and organlsations could
sponsor a brick and have their name engraved. Thls ralsed £150 durlng the year.
New Bulld - Donatlon
A £5,000 donation was recelved from JS & EC Rymer Charltable Trust, to contribute
towards funds to build a new purpose built modern building.
Taxatlon
Hutton CranswSck Sport and Recreation Association is a registered charlty. All the
associations, income is applied to its charitable objettlves and the associatlon is therefore
exempt under current legislation from most forms of taxation.
The charity is not VAT reglstered and all expenditure Includes Irrecoverable VAT.
Trustee Remuneration
No remuneration direttly or indirectly out of the funds of the charlty was pald or payable
for the year to any Trustee.
There was reimbursement of travel expenses amounting to £105 paid to 2 Trustees (2019:
£110 for 2 Trustee) In respect of the year.

I report on the accounts of Hutton Cranswick Sports and Retteatlon Assodatlon for the year ended
30 June 2019, whlch are set out on pages 1 I to 18.

The charity's Trustees are responslble for the preparatlon of the accounts. The charity's Trustees
consider that an audit 15 not required for this year under seetlon 144 of the Charitles Act 2011 (the
Charltles Act) and that an independent examination Is needed.

any unusual items or dlsclosures In the accounts, and seeklng explanations from you as Trustees
concernlng any such rnatter5. The procedures undertaken do not provlde all the evldence that
would be requlred In an audlt, and consequently I do not express an audlt oplnlon on the vlew
given by the accounts.

constitutlon adopted on 01 June 1987 and amended at subsequent Annual General
Meetlngs In 1988, 1991, 1994, 1995, 2003, 2004, 2009, 2011 and 2018.

The Trustees form the Executive Committee of the charity. The members of the Executive
Commlttee are elected at the Annual General Meeting by the members of the Charity, and
usually remain in office until the Annual General Meeting next followlng thelr electlon. At
the end of thls term they can stand for re-elettion. All members are clrculated wlth
invltatlons to nomlnate Trustees in advance of the Annual General Meeting. There is a
provlslon for the co-option of additional Trustees If requlred.
The Constitution states that the charity needs five members to be quorate.

All Trustees are provided with the Charity Commlsslons 'Roles and Responsibilities of
Trustees,, the Constitution and the financlal ststements including the Annual Report. Any
training required by the TrUSt￿S may be requested at any point, where it is considered
useful to their role as Trustee.

The board of Trustees manages the Charity. Trust￿5 are aware that any conflicts of
interest are declared and minuted. The board meets every 4 to 6 weeks.

Child Protection and Equal Opportunltles pollcies are In place for the charlty. Persons and
groups using the premises also have pollcies in place.
The major rlsks to which the charlty Is exposed, as identified by the Trustees, have been
revlewed and systems have been establlshed to mitlgate those risks,
Objectlves and Actlvities
As set out in the Constitutlon, the Charity's objects are to provide for the inhabltants of
Hutton Cranswick and the nelghbourhood (herein after called 'the area of beneflt,) In the
Interests of soclal welfare facilities for recreation and leisure time occupatlon, for the
purpose of relaxation and wlth the objett of Improving the condltlons of life for the sald
Inhabltsnts.

In developlng the main objective5 for the followlng year the Trustees have given regard to
the Charity Commission guldance on public benefit.
To contlnue to encourage use by the public and new groups for any sporting and
recreational purpose.
To further improve members/users facilitles such as the community hall and playing
fields.
To increase revenue by havlng caravan meetings/ social evenings/ sports days.
In association with the FA to provide increased performance for the sports SUrfa￿S
and provision of our own field Maintenan￿ equipment.
To developi Wlth the assistance of the village childmlnders, a community garden for
children and wheelchair users.
To apply for funding to build a new communlty based extension to the building.

Achievements and Performance
Review

Durlng the year we have undertaken the following activities:
We have provided facilities for 6 senior football teams, plus junior team.
Tennis teams of mixed sex and age.
An archery section of mixed sex and age.
A cricket sectlon wlth one team of mixed age groups.
Developed a club for sporting and social activities for'seniors,.
The sports fields have benefitted from 'tining', moss/weed killing and appllcation of
fertilizer so as to improve playing surfaces.
Astro turf tennis/football Surfa￿ has been cleaned and re-juvenated to ensure
longer Ilfe.
Flood lamps have been seNlced and malntained to ensure they comply with H & S
rules and glve longer Ilfe for use durlng the evenlng.
Chlldren's soft play takes place 2, 112 days a week, when posslble.
There is a weekly whist drive, usually attended by more senlor cltizens.
A qulz nlght every month.
New Senlors Youth club providlng mixed social and sportlng actlvlty for'senlors,
Hall used regularly for children, partles and meetings.
A new fitness class Is held on a weekly basis,
Use of hall by furnlture restorlng group,
Table Tennis nlghts
Soclal coffee mornlngs developed by members of the local rellglous groups
Financial Review
It is the aim of the Executlve Committee to retsin one years, core running costs in the
unrestricted general fund to ensure a sufficlent buffer to enable effettive financlal
decision-making, rather than short term decisions and the charity wlll work towards
achieving this.

Trustees Responslbilities
The Charities Act requires the Trustees to prepare financlal statements for each financial
year. In accordance with the Charity Commission Guidance the Trustees have eletted to
prepare the accounts on the Receipts and Payments basis. This is an ac￿ptable format
for all non-company charities with an income below £250,000.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which dlsclose wlth
reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the charity and to enable them to
ensure that the financlal statements comply with the Charities Att 2011. The Trustees are
also responslble for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable
steps for the prevention and detectlon of fraud and other irregularities.
Statement of disclosure of Information to Independent Examiner
The Charity has an Income belween £25,000 and £lm and therefore Èlls under the
Independent Examination regime. We, the Trustees of the Charity iyho held office at the
date of approval of these financlal statements, each confim so ftdr as we are aware, that:
O there Is no relevant Informatlon of whlch the Charivs Independent èxaminer is
unaware; and
we have taken all the steps that we ought to have taken as Trustees in order to
make ourselves aware of any relevant information and to estsblish that the
Charity's Independent Examiner is aware of that Information.

Restricted Funds (continued)
The Football Foundation - Adult Steel Freestsnding Goal Pack
Restricted funding of £1,252 was received from The Football Foundation, to help towards
an Adult steel freestandlng goals pack. The Football Foundatlon contributed 750/0 of the
costs, wlth Hutton Cranswick Sport and Recreation Association required to provide 25 %
match.
East Riding Yorkshire Council - Active Creative Grant
A grant for £1,345 was received from East Riding Yorkshire Council to help support Sport,
Play and Arts related activity.
Hutton Cranswlck Warrlors Football
Restrlcted funding of £2,000 was received in the prlor year from Tesco Bags of Help in
adminlstered by Groundworks towards the Hutton Cranswlck Warrlors Football Teams Sn
2019, there has been no expendlture against thls during the year.
New Bulld - Brick Appeal
Hutton Cranswlck Sports and Recreatlon Associatlon are raising fund5 for the purpose of
building a new purpose bullt modern bulldlng to enable them to enhance the faclllties and
offer a greater cholce of attlvltles.
Fundralsing for this was started off wlth an appeal whereby people and organlsations could
sponsor a brick and have their name engraved. Thls ralsed £150 durlng the year.
New Bulld - Donatlon
A £5,000 donation was recelved from JS & EC Rymer Charltable Trust, to contribute
towards funds to build a new purpose built modern building.
Taxatlon
Hutton CranswSck Sport and Recreation Association is a registered charlty. All the
associations, income is applied to its charitable objettlves and the associatlon is therefore
exempt under current legislation from most forms of taxation.
The charity is not VAT reglstered and all expenditure Includes Irrecoverable VAT.
Trustee Remuneration
No remuneration direttly or indirectly out of the funds of the charlty was pald or payable
for the year to any Trustee.
There was reimbursement of travel expenses amounting to £105 paid to 2 Trustees (2019:
£110 for 2 Trustee) In respect of the year.
