Potto Village Hall Charity No. 700596

Trustees Report for the year to 31 March 2021

Objects

Provision of a village hall to be used as a non-sectarian, non-political place of recreation and social intercourse for the advantage or benefit of parishioners of Potto and the surrounding district.

The Trustees have had due regard to the Charities Commission guidance on public benefit during the period, providing use of the Hall to external users, promoting physical and general wellbeing, both locally and beyond.

Trustees

The Trustees during the period and at the date of signing of this Report include the members of the Management Committee, elected at the Annual General Meeting of the Village Hall in accordance with the Trust Deed:

A Wilde Mrs J Storey P Harper Mrs C Young

The principal contact address is Gibson House, Potto, Northallerton, DL6 3HA

Activities and achievements

The years activities have been disrupted by the impact of Covid-19. However, as far as possible within restrictions imposed by Government, we have made use of the Hall. We took advantage of the closed period to commence and complete the accessibility and facilities improvements we had previously planned. These cost some £45,000 of which £41,000 was financed by grants received for this purpose in this and the prior year.

Results and reserves

General activities have resulted in an operating deficit for the year of £840, unsurprising given the impact of Covid-19 on the community and beyond. Whilst this deficit and the contribution to the Hall improvements have reduced our reserves we consider there are sufficient reserves for the foreseeable future.

Signed

A Wilde, Chairman
