The trustees who are also directors of the charity for the purposes of the Companies Acl 2006, present their report with
the financial Statements of the charity for the year ended 31 December 2023. The trustees have adopted the provisions
of Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable lo charities preparing their
accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicablg in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021
(effective 1 January 2019).
OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Objectives and aims
The main purpose of the company is to provide support to people affected by multiple sclerosis and other neurological or
life changing conditions..
Our mission is to strive for excellence in providing support for the sufferers of multiple sclerosis and other neurological or
life changing conditions.
Significant a￿1vItieS
The principal activity continues to be that of supporting people affected by multiple sclerosis 8nd other neurological or life
changing conditions in the local area.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
Reserves pollcy
The directors policy is to build up our free reserves to 8 level which will be sufficient to cover all our expenses for a period
of al least one year assuming that no income was received.
Through Ihis financial period we have seen again Ihe positive effect of our cancelalion policy paired with price increases
that were introduced strategically lo allow the cenlre to be able to keep running and negate losses suffered from mlssed
appointments and combal the increase of ulility bills and other expenditure.
Although it has been hard to secure regular external funding, we were able through the hard work of staff and one
particular volunt8èr, to Socur@ a grant from Thé National Lottgry Community Fund of £7924..
Some members have continued to gift regular 'good will, donations which were gratefully received at a time where every
little h81ps.
STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Governing document
The charity is controlled by its governing document, a deed of trust, and constitutes a limited company. limited by
guarantee, as defined by the Companies Act 2006.
Risk management
The truslees have a duty to identify and review Ihe risks to which the charity is exposed and lo ensure appropriate
conlrols are in place to provide reasonable assurance against fraud and error.
We consider that the systems we have in place to mitigate such risks appear to be adequale in normal circumstances.

The trustees (who are also the directors of Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Centre (South Yorkshire) Ltd for the purposes of

applicable law and United Kingdom Accounting Slandards (United Kingdom Generally Accepted Accounting Practice).
Company law requires Ihe trustees to prepare financial stalemenls for each financial year which give a true and fair view
of Ihe state of affairs of the charitable company and of the incoming resources and application of resources, including the
income and expenditure, of the Gharilable company for that period. In preparing those financial stalements, the Iruslees
are required lo
select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently.,
obseNe Ihe methods and principles in Ihe Charity SORP.,
make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent.,
prepare the financial statements on the going concem basis unless il is inappropriate lo presume that the charitable
company will continue in business.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any lime
the financial position of Ihe charitable company and to enable them to ensure that Ihe financial statements comply with
the Companies Act 2006. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charitable company and hence for
taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and olher irregularities.

I report to the charity Irustees on my examination of the accounts of the Company for the year ended 31 December 2023.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity's trustees of the Company (and also its directors for the purposes of company lawl you are responsible for
the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Companies Act 20061'the 2006 Act'}.
Having satisfied myself that the accounts of the Company are nol required to be audited under Part 16 of the 2006 Act
and are eligible for independent examination, I report in respect of my examination of your charity's accounts as carried
out under Section 145 of Ihe Charities Act 2011 ('the 2011 Act.). In carrying oul my examination I have followed the
Directions given by the Charity Commission under Section 145{51 (b> of the 2011 Act.
Independent examlner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come to my attention in connection with the
examination giving me cause to believe:
accounting records were not kept in respect of th8 Company as required by Section 386 of the 2006 Act., or
the accounts do not accord with those records- or
the accounts do not comply with the accounting requirements of Section 396 of the 2006 Act other than any
requirement thal the accounts give a true and fair view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent

ACCOUNTING POLICIES
Basis of preparing the financial statements
The financial statements of the charitable company. which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102, have been
prepared in accordance with the Charities SORP IFRS 102) 'Accounling and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of
Recommended Praclice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial
Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 1021 {effective 1 January 20191,, Financial
Reporting Standard 102 'The Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland, and the
Companies Act 2006. The financial statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention,

All income is recognised in the Statement of Financial Activities once the charity has entitlement to the funds. it is
probable that the income will be received and the amount can be measured reliably
Expendlture
Liabilities are recognised as expenditure as 600n as there is a legal or constructive obligation committin9 the
charity to that expenditure, it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in settlement and the
amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and has
been classified under headings that aggregate all cosl related to the category. Where costs cannot be directly
attributed to particular headings they have been allocated to activities on a basis consistent with Ihe use of
resources.

Unrestricted funds can be used in accordance with the charitable objectives at the discretion of the trustees.

arise when specified by the donor or when funds are raised for particular restricted purposes.

Pension costs and other post-retirement benefits
The charitable company operates a defined contribution pension scheme. Contributions payable to the charitable
company's pension scheme are charged lo the Statement of Financial Activities in the period to which they relate.
