Aims and oblertlves for 2025126 Althou8h the cost of living trisis has laded from the news, for our clients it remains a real and continuin8 problem. Food and fuel prices remain hlgh with benefit5 and wages not keeping pace. Levels of poverty continue to rise. a record £4 billion is owed in fuel arrears and housing costs continue to increase at uncontrulled rates. Leeds Citizens Advice & Law Centre's flnances remain under pressure despite having secured additional Sncome in 2024125 and 2025126. The key underlying cause of this pressure is that funders have not applied inflation increa5e5 for 5 or more years, while salary costs have Increased significantly. The Increase to employerfs National Insurance this year alone h45 added over £30.000 to our runninq costs, Wlth charitie5 not being 8ranted exemption as publlc bodie5 have been. Other key risk factors in the next two vears are potential loss of income, and threats arising from technological developmtnts. Several of our income streams ère being re-tendered In the next two years so ensvTin8 we are well placed to wSn those tenders is a priority. Keeping up wSth technological developments and protectln8 the or8anisation from cyber attacks are also essential and are likely to increase running costs. Against this background. maintaining services and or8anlsatSon stability becomes ever more complex and expensive, and in 2025126 our priority 15 to maintain the level of advice provision we have, to expand telephone and specialist services where possible, and to SLtstain our campaigning voice.
