JECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
Once again we continue to move forward with our training objectives and during this financial year we
have built on the numbers of Staff and Cadets. We have, since our last financial year, introduced a
d tachment of Royal Marine Cadets, which has been a huge success and adding a different arm to our
already successful Sea Cadet Unit. We continue to be a training hub for both Northern Area Sea Cadets
and Tyne South District Sea Cadets, holding a multitude of training courses. This not only boosts our
credibilty as a training establishment, but also allows us full use of our buildings and training equipment.
Backed by the Marine Society and Sea Cadets (MSSC) Tyne Tees Branch, we have drawn up plans
and set up a fundraising appeal to update our Marine Engineering Centre. This was built over 15 years
ago and now requires modernisation to cover the everchanging regulations within Marine Engineering.
We hope this will be carried out during the financial year ending 31 March 2026, however this is
dependent on the much needed funding.
Offshore sail training continues to be a favourite method of our waterborne activities, offering cadets a
chance to sail on a more complex ship and gain so much experience. In addition to our own boats,
both motor, rowing and canoeing, all aspects of boating are covered which provide many hours of
waterborne fun at our unit.
Our overall success as a Sea Cadet Unit continues with the annual presentation of the Marine Society
Society and Sea Cadets highest prestigious award of a burgee, this will be the 12th year in a row we
have achieved this.
Public
enefit
During this period our Staff and Cadets have attended many local public events, continuing to
add our presence within the town of Hebburn and the Borough of South Tyneside. Annual events
such as Armistice Day, Remembrance Sunday and Veteran's Day have been well represented by
our Unit.

I report to the Trustees on my examination of the accounts for the year ended 31 March 2025.
ective responsibilities of Trustees an
The charity's Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's Trustees
consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the
2011 Act) and that an independent examination is required.
Having satisfied myself that the charity is not subject to audit under company law and is eligible for
independent examination, it is my responsibility to:
examine the accounts under Section 145 of the 2011 Act.
to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions qiven by the Charitv Commission
(under Section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act); and
to state whether particular matters have come to mv attention.
asis of the Inde
ent examiner's report
My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions qiven by the Charity
Commission. An examination includes a review of the accountinq records kept bv the charity and a
comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of anv

concerninq any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would
be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is qiven as to whether the accounts present a
tru
ir view.
Independent examiner's statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in
connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in any material respect:
accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act.
the accounts do not accord with the accounting records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to
which attention should be drawn, in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts,
to be reached.
