MALPAS VICTORIA JUBILEE HALL- 2023-4 TRUSTEES REPORT CHARITY 700176 IhR..Qrganisation Malpas Victoria Jubilee Hall dates back to 1890 and is a village hall in the centre of Malpas, Cheshire. The object of the charity is the provision, upkeep and maintenance of the hall for the benefit of the people of Malpas and the surrounding area. The hall is popular place for coffee mornings, charity functions, children's birthday parties, meetings, exercise classes, clubs and societies. The hall is extremely well used and our fundraising events are well attended. The committee arrange two or three fundraising events each year. The hall has four meeting rooms and a large function room which are hired out to members of the public, many of which are regular hirers. The Management Committee meet once a month to discuss the maintenance and upkeep of the hall, fundraising events, finances and any other matters arising. The hall is dependent upon rooms being hired plus fundraising and donations. Financial Review The principal income sources for the hall are hiring charges, fundraising, grants and donations. It needs to be noted that in the previous year accounts submission the amount actually held in the saving account (£19,134) was included in error as investment income. Investment income was shown under 'other' as £33.00 however. Auditors Diane Johnston F.C.A. of Huxley Johnston Limited, Chartered Certified Accountants, Aqua House, Hampton Heath Industrial Estate, Hampton, Cheshire, SY14 8LY Structure Governance and Mana ement In accordance with the registered Trust Deed. The Trust is not incorporated and run on a daily basis by a Management Committee comprising local volunteers and representatives of users. The Management Committee takes full cognisance of the guidance in respect of management of a Trust, the Trust Deed and current financial and business law and is in regular communication with the Trustees, sharing financial and management information on a regular basis.
Achievements & Performance As noted ante the Trust has started to reorganised itself as it enters the 202415 financial year to better conform to current guidance. There has been an acknowledgement that the organisation should better embrace the digital age and make the hire and management of the Hall easier. An online booking system was brought in at the end of this year and will extend to invoicing etc on 202415 . The movement to online hire conditions and better publication of Health & Safety matters has moved on at pace. Public feedback on the need for upgrading facilities and decoration will be pursued into 2024 as will the need to make economies in the use of Utilities such as heating and lighting costs. The Hall will continue to act as a hub for the local community, running Christmas events particularly for the children and entertainment and eXperIenS for the adults throughout the year including a Christmas Market in the main street and events in the large main hall. The Hall continues to act as meeting place for several local groups engaged in public works, social and hobby groups, educational and community organisations. For¥vard Plannin The Trust will undertake an extensive refurbishment within the available finances including making a WiFi system available for users across the whole premises and the provision of Audio-visual facilities that will extend the uses to which the Hall can be put. Increased marketing of the facilities will take place to promote usage and encourage involvement of the increasing population served by the locality.
