Dent C of E Primary School is a small rural school providing primary education for children in the Dent catchment area.  From here they progress to secondary education.  The numbers on roll are low.  This is reflected in the amount of school budget we receive from central government.  This is determined by pupil numbers. 

In order to provide a good standard of education for our children the governors aim to provide a varied and comprehensive curriculum so that our children reflect the school motto: 

“Joyful and equipped to succeed and serve” 

Our last Ofsted inspection in January 2024 produced a Good rating. 

To this end we are supported by local bodies donating to the school as it is an important asset to village life. This explains our accounting showing a large amount received in donations which is then transferred to help maintain budget balance.
