Structure, governance and management
New trustees given advice on reading Charity Commission website re9ardlng their role and
responsibilities before they agree to become a Irusl&8.
We have polices on Risk ass6ssm8nt. vulnerable adults and children, health and safety and
lone working, CCTV use, food hygiene, flnancial m8nagem8nt. use of donations. new
trustees and volunleers induction.
We have an insurancè policy which protects th8 trustees and volunteers from personnel
claims.
We hold monthly minuled meetings for Iruslees to keep everyon8 up lo date. Any interested
partieslvolunleers are welcome lo attend our meetings. Th8 minutes are available for anyone
to read on request, they are displayed on the noticeboard for 1 month then stored.

To keep tho Old Grammar School Building In good sound order and available for the people
ol the Pansh lo use- subject to acceptance by the Iruslees
By giving grants lo schools and youth groups. Information on how lo apply Is avallable vi8 the
web site or by contacting the Iruslees dir8cIIy.
To maintain the building by having a schedule of work lo be undertaken each year lo ensure
that all is in good order and fil for purpose.
All new and existing Trustees are infomed of their rol8 and to read the information on the
Charity Commisslon web si18 and lo follow the guidelines of the Conslilution.
Grants ar8 requested vla the websltè. Once recelved they are discussed at the monthly
trustees meeting. The requests have lo meet the guidelines sel out in the conslilulion and on
the website. If all are happy lo giv8 the grant this is accepted, and the monies sent via BACS
transfer by the treasurer of the grouplschool. On receipt of Ihe grant. we ask that the
recipienls send either aloller, drawing or photographs of the activity that the grant has
supported.
We use local tradesmen lo Carry out any work lo the bullding or grounds Wè also have 3
volunteers who look after the grounds for us, and a group of people who will help al our
events, running the cafe and cake baking. Other local groups use the facilities for meetings
el¢.
The Foundation continues lo pay for volunteers who work in the kitchen lo gain an online
stage 2 food hygiene course. Currently 5 have successfully completed the course.

Achiev•monts and performanco
Throughout the ye8r a programme of maintenance and upgrading of the building has been
carried out lo modemise the premises and improve access. This work ￿ntInueS this year
wilh us working towards obtaining grants lo carry out worf( on the roof of the building. We
hope that this is completed in 2026
The café and shop continue lo be successful. with many new customers arriving. We are
continuing with th& Tueséay and Friday opening days.
In addition, on Thursday lunch times. we host the Inspire" oharily lo run our café and shop.
This has been very successful,. Ihelr sessions are open lo both their clients and the general
publlc and are well allended. Their clients also help with general gardening. shop. café and
maintenance worf( around the building. they are a very welcome boost to our aclivilies.
A local not for profil sewing groLJP has joined us. They hold weekly sessions open lo anyone
lo learn how lo sew on Tuesday mornings.
We are continuing to givè out grants. we aim to give out up to 4 grants each month still sel al
£200.00 each application, sometimes more if we feel that their need 15 something the
Iruslees want to give more support to. The grants are given to local schools and youth
groups e.g. football and rugby teams, Scouts and Guides and other local groups that have
mombers under 24 years of age e.g. the swimming club, brass band and bowling club lo
encourage young people lo join or lo train older members lo support young people. Again, in
December 2024, we gave e8oh ol the 10 local schools and 10 local groups who support
sport or education a one-off grant of £500.000 each.
The ongoing situation of the roof repairs continues. continues. The prèsent roof should last
for another 8- 10 years 8 local bulldèr is che¢king the roof every year and carrying out any
repairs, so far he slates that the roof is sound. We may also apply for loltery funding lo help
with the cost of repairs lo the roof in the next financial year.
We continue to rely on volunteers lo keep the garden and outdoor space tidy.
Work on new palio completed this year, providing a lovely svnny seating area foT our visilors
lo enjoy the garden.
Flnancial Review
We are working towards having the necessary monies for the roof repair h81d in the bank
account and lo cover the cost of any emergency T8pairs or to cover the utility bills etc should
we lose our income stream and ar8 unable lo fund the upkeep of the building.
Once we have Gompl8led the updates to the building then long-term plans will be made
regarding investments.
We are financially viable and hope in 2025 to put some extra funds into a reserve. We currently
hold a r85erve of £IO,DOO in a Virgin money account as an emergency reserve.

We raise money through selling donated household Items and handicraft items through our
shop and online. some more valuable items are sold on mafkelplace or eBay.
The café. craft group and other small social events are also profitable. Thls year we have
been very successful both in fund raising and welcoming local people into our building. The
building is very important to the local population who love being able lo come and visit us
and enloy our lovely grade 2. listed building and gard8n.
In total thls year we have donated £18.1071o local schools and other not for profil groups

the year ended 31 March 2025 which ar8 set out on pages 6 to 8.

As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in
accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 20111'lh8 Act").
I report in respect of my examination of th8 Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of
the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the 8ppli¢able DirKtions
given by the Charity Commission under section 145(51(bl of the Act.
