Legal status
The Charity 15 govemed by its Trnst Deed and is registered with the Chgrities Commission (number 529462).

The object of the charity is to m2intain and enhance the Ci)oper Art Collection, make it accessible to the g¢neral public
and to encourage and promote art generally in the Barnsley Metropolitan Distt'ÈLt.

The charity's monies may be invest¢d at the Trustees discretion and without liinitation. The Trustees employ the
Investment advisors AFH Wealth Management to manage their investTn¢nt portfolios.

The Statement of Financial Activities shows rte( movement in funds of (£16,052) (2024- £306,345).
There were grants made in the year to 30 June 2025 of £3,85512024 - £10,911).
Cash reserves were £49,936 at 30 June 2025. Total reserves were £6,058,480 at 30 June 2025.
Risk njanagement
The truste¢s have assessed the major risk5 to which the eharity is exposed, in particular those related to the operations
and finances of the charity, and are sat15fied that Systems ale in place to mitigate oui. exposure to the major risks.
Reserves polley
Th¢ reserves ofthe charity are all unrestricted reserves. It is the policy of the ¢harity to maintain a level of reserves
equal or above that required to wind down the charity, plu5 its general running costs for six calendar months.

Responsibilitles of the Trustees
The Charities Act requires the tThgtees to prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a tru¢ and
fair view of the state of affairs of the charity at thc end of the period and of the incoming and outgoing resources for
the period then ended.
In preparing those financial statements. the trustees are requir¢d to s¢le¢t suitable accounting policies and then apply
them con5iStently, making judgements and estimates that are reasonably PTudent. The trustees must also prepare the
financial statements on the going concem basis unless it is inappTopriat¢ to presume that the charity will continue its
8ctiviti¢s.
The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which dis¢lose with reasonable accuracy at any
time the financial position of the charity and to enable thetn to ensure that th¢ fmancial statements comply with the
Charities Act 2011 and the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008. The trustees are also responsible for
safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of liaud
and other irregularities.

The chariry's trustees considei. than an audst is not required for this year und¢r section 144(2) of the Charities Act

seeking explanations from you as trustees Concerning any such matters. The pi'ocedures undertaken do not provide
all the evidence that would be required in 3n audit and consequently I do not expre55 an a￿dit opinion on the view

of the principle office is CooppTh Gallery, Church Street, Barnsley, S70 2AH.
STATEMENT OF COMPLIANCE
The5¢ financial statements have been prepared in compliance with FRS 102, The Financial Reporting Standard
applicable in the UK and the Republi¢ of Ireland, the Statement of Recoinmended Practice applicable to
charitie5 preparing their accounts in ac¢ordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK
and the Republic of Ireland IFRS 102) (Charsties SORP I FRS 102) and the Charities Act 2011.
ACCOUNTINC POLICIES
Basis of prep8rgtion
The financial statements have been prepared on 8 going concern basis under the historical cost convention as
modified by the revaluation of certain financial assets Ineasured at fair value through income and expenditure.
The finan¢i21 staternents are prepared in sterling which is the futtttional currency of the charity and rounded to
the nearest £. The significant accounting poli¢ies consistently applied in the preparation of these financial
statements are set out below..
The foundation Constitutes a public benefit entity as defined by FRS 102.
Going concern
There are no mat¢rial uncertainties about the charsty's ability to continue.
Incoming re50urce5
Investment income is accounted for in the period in which the charity is entitled to re¢eipt.
Resourees expended
Expenditure 15 included on an accruals basis. ¢xclllsive of VAT.
Grants payable are charged in the period when the offer is conveyed to the recipient.
Governance cotnprises costs for the rnnning of the charity itself as an organisation.

Realised gains relate to tli¢ movetllei)t in ihe fair value of an investment at the start of the period from the sale

Unrealised gains relate to the movement in the fair value of the eh8rity'S investment portfolio from the previous

Legacies
Legacy gifts are recognised on a case by ¢a5e basi5 following the granting of PTobate when the
adtllini5tratorlexecutor for the estate has communicated in writing both the amount and settl¢m¢nt date. In the
event thai ihe gift is in the form of an asset other than ¢a5h or a financial asset traded on a recognised stock
exchange, recognition is subject to the value of the gift being reliable measurable with a degree of reasonable
accuracy and the titl¢ to the asset has been transferred to the ¢hallty.

An independ¢nt valuation of the chai'ity's freehold property was undertaken by Smiths Chartered Surveyors
dated 6 September 2020. The charity has applied the transitional a￿angements of FRS 102 and used the
¢xisting catrying aEnount of its freehold propejty at its transition dat¢ as the dccmed cost.
The charity had their individual works of arE independently valued by Bonhams on 22 June 2022 for insurance
purposes cxcept for the CGS Balakjian Collection which wa5 independently valued by Bonhams on 14
Nov¢mb¢r 2024 for insurance purposes.
