As the Charitys Trustees you are responsible for
the preparation of the accounts. you consideT that
the audit requirement of Section 144 of the
Charities Act 2011 Ithe Act) does not apply. It is my
responsibility to state. on the basis of procedures
specified in the General Directions given by the
Charity Commissioners under section 14515llbl of
the Act. whether particu18r matters have come to
my attention.
Basis of Independent Examiner's
Report
My examination was carried out in accordance with
the Gener81 Directions given by the Charity
Commissioners. An examination includes a review
ol the accounting records kept by the charity 8nd a
comparison ofthe accounts presented with those
records. It also includes Conside￿tIon of any
unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and
seeking explanations from you as trustees
concerning2ny such matters. The procedures
undertaken do not provide all the evidence that
would be required in an au(Jit. and consequently I
do not express an audit opinion on the viewgiven
bythe accounts.

Summary of Objectives of the Charity=
The School ofthe Foundation shall be maintained at Bowes asa Voluntaryschool and
Religious Instruction in accordance with the doctrines otthe Church of England shall be
given therein.
The Governors mayapplythe residueofthe netincome ofthe Foundation inthe
maintenance {including insurance) and improvement of the School of the Foundation
and forthis purpose the Governors may make payments tothe Managers ofthe said
School.
The Governors may set aside a buildingfund for the benefit of the School so much as
they see fit of the net income of the Foundation.
Any partofthe net income not applied may be applied bythe Governors in promoting
education, including social and physical training of boys and girls in the Ancient Parish
of Bowes.
TheTrusteesfollowingthe Guidance contained inthe Chartycommission's General Guidance
on public benefit when followng the Trust's aims and objectNes an¢J in setting grant making
policy for the year.
Activities and Achievements:
During the yearthe Trust has continued to pay forthe School buildings. insurance.
The Trust has provided funding towards a School Auxili3ry who assist Teachers within the
classrooms at Bowes School. This brings value to the School by reducing the staff to children
ratio and makes Bowes School more attractive to prospecttve parents. The School was
described 8S"OLrtstanding"following a Statutory Inspection byOFSTED in 2019. The SIAMS
Inspection gave 8 100% rating.
Bibles are given to the children.
Policy for selection of Itwestrnents
To select investments which have a managed risk, to provide incomeforthecharity as well as
C8Pltal growth.

Income
The income for the Charity totalled £57.358.00. Payments were made to the Bowes School to
retain the SchoolAuxiliary.
Reserves:
As at 31" December 2023 the Hutchinson Endowed School Charity h8d investments totalling
£132,549.
The Charity owns:
The School and grounds at Bowes.
The Charity owns a 315"Share in farms and land namely:

Mid Lowfield Farm, Bowes
Land atstonebridge, Bowes
Land at East Lowfield, Bowes
Low Thornberry Fam, Bowes
Land at Ellerbeck, Bowes
