## FLAG Trustees’ report June 2023

Once again we have been able to organise talks with refreshments and the holidays planned with such enthusiasm pre-Covid were finally able to take place. There are more short breaks coming up. and we intend to have a Christmas Lunch this year. As well as giving funding to the gallery, which this year was £20,000, one of our aims is to make the public aware of the gallery and its exhibitions. The chairman was asked by Newcastle University to give a presentation to students on the M.A in Museum and Heritage Studies course on the subject of Friends’ organisations and how they help galleries. Saturday morning Picture of the Month talks resumed where members of the public simply turn up to discover more about paintings in the collection.

Like every charity, we desperately need more volunteers to step up, particularly those with the computer knowledge to update our records and communications with our members which is so time consuming and increasingly expensive.
