**Objects:** THE OBJECT OF LIBRARIES AND INFORMATION EAST MIDLANDS IS TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THEPUBLIC THROUGH PROMOTING LIBRARY CO-OPERATION AND DEVELOPMENT. THE ORGANISATION WILLENCOURAGE WIDENING ACCESS TO LIBRARY AND INFORMATION RESOURCES, IN PARTICULAR BY THEINTERLENDING OF BOOKS AND RELATED MATERIALS PRIMARILY BETWEEN MEMBER LIBRARIES, BUT ALSOBY CO-OPERATION WITH LIBRARIES IN OTHER REGIONS AND WITH THE BRITISH LIBRARY AND OTHERNATIONAL AND REGIONAL BODIES; TO ASSIST ANY ACTION DESIGNED TO IMPROVE LIBRARYFACILITIES AND RESOURCES BY CO-OPERATION BETWEEN LIBRARIES.
