STRUCTURE. GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
The governing instrument is a trust deed dated October 1792 as varied by a Scheme dated 13 June 1967 and by a
Scheme dated 9 November 1990.
The Objects of the Trust are
l. Providing such special benefit of any kind not provided by the LEA for Wiggonby School promoting the
education of the children attending the school.
2. Promoting the education of persons under 25 years of age resident in the Parishes of Alkton, Burgh by
Sands and Beaumont or any former pupils of Wiggonby School.
The main activities undertaken are the rental for grass letting of a farm and the investment of funds.
The trustees have complied with the duty in Section 4 of the Charities Art 2￿6 with regard to the guidance on
public benefit published by the Charity Commission.
During the year the Trust has made grants to 1512024 241 students and has provided the school with books,
atlas's and trophies. A donation to Wiggonby school of £22,500 was made just after the year end.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
During the year the Trust had income of £54,29512024 £74,365) with overhead expenditure of £3,56212024
£4,878) and charitsble donations of £7,02212024 £28,578) giving a surplus of £43,71112024 £40,909).
The grass letting income remains high and payments have been received for the period from the year end to 3tyh
June 2025. The annual grass letting fees are £38,320. The bank interest is higher than last year as the trust has
invested a further £30,000 with the Skipton Building Society.
The Trust aims to invest its funds to produce an income that will cover the expected grants to be paid. A5 such the
level of reserves 15 sufficient to produce that income. The funds are invested in low risk investments.
Expenses were paid to the Clerk but no trustees received any payments.
The Trustees have eomplied with their duty to have due regard to the 8uldance on public benefit published by the
Commission in exercising their powers and duties

I report on the Accounts for the year en(led 31 Mèrch 2025 as set out on pages 3 to 4.
The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charivs trustees
consider that an audit is not required for this year under sertion 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the
Charities Act) and that an independent eKamination is needed.
It is my responsibility to..
examine the accounts under sertion 145 of the Charities Act,
to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charlty Commission
(under section 14515llbl of the Charities Act, and
to 5tste whether particular matters have come to my attention.
My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity
Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and
comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of anv
unusual items or disclosures in the accounts. and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning
any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be
required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given a5 to whether the accounts present a
'true and fairf view and the report is limited to those matter5 set out in the statement below.
In connection with my examination, no material matters have come to my attention which give5 me
cause to believe that in. any material respect,.
the accounting records were not kept in accordance with
section 130 of the Charities Act; or
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records;
or
the accounts did not comply wlth the applicable
requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts
and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and
fairf view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should
be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
