Grant maklng pollcy The Feoffeps make awards on the basis of an indivldual's financial p)sltion. Any parb'cular CDnditions imposed by dorFofs are taken into account when making awards. Whilst most of the award5 from the Hospild are small and giv8n ag bursaries, any grant from the Inslrurngnt Fund is givgn ID parents in suppoit of their requests for assistan¢ in buying instruments lor their Childien. Thé parents usually have to contribut8 to any purchase. This year. the value of awards madé by the Hospital to the School's students was £1,60012019- £2,400). A grant of £22,00012019- £94,0001 was made to Ghethatn's Ubrary during the year. Around 90Vo of the students at Chelham's are eligible for means-tested support throuuh the Music and Dance Aided Pupil S¢horne. funded by Ihe Department for Education IDIEI. This Scheme ensures that farnilies ara only askèd to contritxjte towards the lees Qt thg School at a level that they can aftord. For a number ol reasons, usually because the Scheme is primarily lor UK residents, a SFnall numbèr ol students are not 91igible for financl support through the DIE sohem8.
