Section D                      Achievements and performance 

**Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year** 

The trustees have run the building (The Old Grammar School) to meet our charitable objectives. The building houses Whalley Pre-School (Registered Charity 1024628) which provides low cost Pre-School education for the children within our area. The building is also used by many community groups for educational, recreational and social purposes at low cost. 

The trustees have commenced work towards the objectives set for which planning permission has been sought and granted.  The first part of the project has been completed to bring back into use an upstairs office.  We have also provided a safe enclosed play area for the preschool children.

The trustees have resolved that we will maintain reserves considered sufficient to meet the needs of maintenance of our building. Excess can be distributed in accordance with terms set out in our governing document. Decisions in this regard are at the discretion of the governing body.
