- Formal written policies.

- Memorandums of understanding with partner organizations.

- Clear authorization and appraisal levels.

## CHARITABLE OBJECTIVES

The main objective of the Trust is to continue in the proclamation of the Christian gospel message. and

In detail, the objectives are classified as follows:

1. To provide facilities for all people, yet specifically young people, to develop mentally, physically, culturally and spiritually in the Christian faith. The Charity shall not be an end in itself, but shall help to prepare all people, yet young people to be useful citizens.

2. To further such other charitable purposes, particularly in the area of benefit, as the Committee of the Charity may from time to time decide providing that these activities are not detrimental to objective 1 above.

## ACTIVITIES AND ACHEIVEMENTS OF THE CHARITY DURING THE YEAR

This is the general report for the Calendar and Financial Year 2024/25 (April 1 – March 31).

This year, we welcomed Jackie Fentem and Dorretta Maynard as new members of the KLYCC committee. Although Martin Murphy initially joined, he later chose to step down from his position. Following his resignation, we also bid farewell to Sam Fentem, expressing our gratitude for his many years of service both as Chair and as a committee member.

Our committee consists of Pastor Aaron Hornback, Chair, Tim Davidson, Maxine Williams-Reid, David Esdaile, Jackie Fentem and Dorretta Maynard. We’ve not heard from the Council regarding their representative, yet are looking forward to welcoming and engaging with him/her soon. Our Holding Trustees are Pastor Aaron (added this year), David Esdaile and Ken Richards.

During this year, Jackie has continued with Centre cleaning and has taken on managing the Saturday café with aim of building a voluntary support team. Early 2025, Jackie became the point of contact for the new bookings. She has also spearheaded new initiatives: Toddler Group and CAP Job Club. To give administrative support to the running of the Centre, a new online booking system was set up for hirers to book, get approval and then make payment prior to use – or an arranged payment with Administration. We are also now online, too.

Due to the change in oversight and a fresh look at the economics of running the Centre, new policies and procedures were introduced, as well as hire charges were increased to ensure our overheads and emergency or wear and tear funds are built up. This caused some hires to move on – which helped - the increase of use by current hirers and making space for new activities.

Our finances are improving despite the repair works carried out on the Centre roofs. The amount of leakages have decreased with the installation of a new drainage system. The roof isn’t 100% leak proof, but it is 80% better. The cost of an overhaul of the roof is more than we can afford now. The Centre had a refresh of paint throughout. New lighting is installed in the main hall and recording studio space. There is still an issue with dampness in the main hall, yet proper ventilation and the roof repairs have reduced the damp.

Implementation of name and function changes have been slow to take effect, but it is happening. Thankful to have new administrative help in the background to move things forward. Peter Rossiter is giving administrative support and Sandra Harriett has taken on the role of Treasurer.

Thank you for your continued support and trust this report is encouraging to you.

ACTIVITY/USAGE of KLYCC

The goal of KLYCC is to achieve the objectives of the Charity. We are beginning to see this happen.

Activities in the Centre for 24/25 are:

Music/band lessons/tuition Cooking Stars – children’s cooking classes and holiday clubs KL Hub Group (older generation) Hot Meal Club – for OAP Band/Groups Rehearsal Hire Event hires CAP Job Club Young Saplings – toddler group Ramp Church Youth Mahanaim Church (including holiday clubs) KLM Events Term Break Clubs/Holiday Parties

The Centre has seen an uptake in activity. The café seems to not be as profitable as desired, but this can be addressed with an uptake in marketing and new signage – which has been prepared, just not moved forward. The future of the Centre will have a dramatic positive impact on all aspects of the Centre and our Community engagement. Being one of few youth centres still in operation, it is great to see we’re still in operation and moving forward towards our Constitutional goal.

On behalf of the Trustees and Committee Members of KLYCC,

Pastor Aaron Hornback
