Girlguiding Caernarfonshire is a member of Girlguiding UK

## **Quotes from Guiding**

Girlguiding is the UK’s largest youth organisation dedicated completely to girls. Girls can do anything. We help them know that, whether they’re 4 or 18 whoever they are, and wherever they are. Through fun, friendship, challenge and adventure we empower girls to find their voice, inspiring them to discover the best in themselves and to make a positive difference in their community.

Our values are our shared commitment to be:

- Caring

- Challenging

- Empowering

- Fun

- Inclusive

- Inspiring

Throughout the history of Girlguiding it has evolved as the needs of the girls has.

"In planning our activities for the year, we kept in mind the Charities Commission's guidance on public benefit at our trustee’s meetings."

We have a total of £93163.29

We continued to hold exec meetings over zoom, and again our AGM was held this way.

We have a total of 462 girls and 119volunteers, the number of volunteers is slightly higher than last year.

We saw a change in the exec team as Nadine Murphy had to step up as Acting County Commissioner with Sian Lister resigning in July so we are looking to appoint a new commissioner in this next year.

In this year we have had several events, Rainbows and Brownies had Christmas crafts in Llanberis. We had a very successful Thinking day event in Ysgol Gogarth for all units.

Guides and Rangers had a County camp in May where they did Archery, fencing and many other activities in the sunshine.

Rainbows had a day out at Foel Farm.

It was our counties turn to volunteer at the Royal Welsh Agricultural show at Builth show in July, this event is for older Guides and Rangers, everyone who went enjoyed the experience.

Events next year thanks day in November, when we recognise all our volunteers. Many events are planned Christmas crafts for Rainbows, Space Day and Bounce below for Brownies, County Camp and Llandopoly for Guides and Rangers. Finishing the year off with a trip to Chester Zoo for all sections.

## **INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF GIRL GUIDING CAERNARFONSHIRE**

I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 August 2025, which are set out on pages 3 to 4.

## **Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner**

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act)) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to:

- examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act;

- to follow the procedures laid down in the General Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(S)(b) of the 2011 Act; and

- to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

## **Basis of independent examiner's report**

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.

## **Independent examiner's statement**

In connection with my examination, no material matters have come to my attention which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

- the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or

- the accounts did not accord with the accounting records;

- the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair' view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
