||||||As we started 2022, we were delighted<br>to|
||||||hear that our County President,<br>Maureen|
||||||Davies, had been awarded<br>a B.E.M. in the|
||||||Queen's<br>New Years Honours<br>List for her|
||||||charitable<br>work over many years.<br>Maureen|
||||||attended<br>her award ceremony<br>at|
||||||Caernarfon<br>Castle on a rather blustery|
||||||spring afternoon,<br>and we enjoyed<br>hearing|
||||||her talk afterwards<br>about her special day.<br>We were shocked and saddened<br>to hear of|
||||||her sudden<br>illness and passing a few|
||||||months<br>later.<br>Members of Girl<br>uidin|





|Anglesey<br>were invited to take part in her||
|---|---|
|funeral service which was a fitting memorial||
|to an amazing<br>woman.<br>We are pleased||
|that Maureen's<br>daughter,<br>Bethan, agreed||
|to take on the County President<br>role until||
|the next County Commissioner<br>is||
|appointed.||
|The year began with a new structure<br>within||
|Girlguiding<br>Anglesey<br>when we created two||
|Divisions to replace the previous<br>five||
|Districts.<br>The Divisions cover the areas on||
|the two OS maps for Anglesey,<br>and have||
|the same names:<br>Dwyrain<br>Ynys Mon East||
|Anglesey<br>and Gorllewin<br>Ynys Mon West||
|Anglesey<br>Division.<br>New Division||
|Commissioners<br>were appointed,<br>and they||
|quickly settled<br>into their new roles.||
|We began to see a recovery<br>in||
|membership<br>numbers<br>during<br>the year||
|following<br>the challenges<br>ofthe pandemic,||
|and an increased<br>confidence<br>from our||
|leaders<br>in the variety ofactivities offered|in|
|weekly meetings<br>and outside.<br>Risk||
|assessments<br>were updated,<br>and our||
|Girlguiding<br>Training team worked<br>hard to||
|ensure we were compliant<br>with||
|Girlguiding's<br>policies.<br>Most trainings<br>were||
|held on Zoom, and the County Executive||
|team met either on Zoom or in hybrid||
|meetings<br>during the year.||
|We joined<br>in the celebrations<br>ofQueen||
|Elizabeth<br>II's Platinum<br>Jubilee by||
|commissioning<br>some commemorative||
|mugs and bottles for our members,<br>and||
|hosting a jubilee street party and beacon||
|bonfire at Anglesey<br>Guide Centre which got<br>onto the BBC's coverage ofthe event.||
|There were residential<br>events at Anglesey||
|Guide Centre during the year for Brownies||
|and Guides,<br>and a successful<br>County||
|Camp was held at Ynysgain,<br>near||
|Criccieth, on a very sunny August<br>Bank||
|Holiday.<br>Guides, Rangers<br>and leaders||
|attended<br>Girlguiding<br>Staffordshire's<br>Unity||
|Camp as participants<br>and on the service||
|teams.||
|The Rainbow section of Girlguiding||
|celebrated<br>their 35th anniversary<br>during the||
|year, so a badge was designed<br>and a||
|special birthday<br>party was held for them.||
|We were fortunate to have funding<br>from||
|grants administered<br>by Medrwn<br>Mon during<br>the year to help with the costs of many||
|events which increased<br>participation.||





|In September we heard ofthe death of|
|---|
|Queen Elizabeth<br>II, and we joined with|
|countless<br>others<br>in paying<br>our tributes.|
|One guide went with her mother to London|
|and queued<br>for hours to file past the coffin,|
|where the guide saluted<br>and quietly<br>said|
|her Guide Promise to our late Patron.|
|Others paid their tributes<br>locally at Oriel|
|Mon.|
|A small group of our members<br>were able to|
|greet the new Prince and Princess of|
|Wales on their first visit in their new roles,|
|where they accepted some badges for their|
|children's<br>camp blankets.|
