Huddersfield Dartmouth Dlvtsion GuidesTru5tees Re ort 2022 Dlvlslon Commlssloner< Re Welcome to you all this afternoon and thank you for comlng. ￿ is really good to be able to meet once again face to fa￿. All units are now back up and running showing slight irKrea5es In numberfrom the beginning of the year. As last yearfs AGM wa5 Virtual, we had the pleasure of visitirE many units to deliver long service awards and it was greatto see both leaders and the girls back in artion and as busy as ever. In January we were able to hold our Annual Pantomime trip to the LawrerKe BatleyTheatre to see Beauty and the Beast. The week running up to the event was very fraught wtth constant telephone calls to See if the performance was still going ahead. ￿ usual Huddersfield Light Opera rose to the challenge and a fantastic perforrnan￿ wa5 enjoyed by all and it was a great opportunity for members of the Division and Trefoil to meet up. The Exec team agreed to use this event as a wayto in(Jease unit funds with the Division pawrg for the pantomime and the reduced cost charged by each individual unit going into their funds. At one of our open meetings we discussed how we were going to ￿lebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee within the Division. It was agreed to hold individual sertion events which have proved a great success. In June approx 55 of our Rainbows joined togetherfor an activity afternoon and dis¢0. Thank you to Margaret who spearheaded the organisation of this. July saw approx 115 members meet at Meltham HQ on a glorious sunny day. This was packed with crafts activities and various Unit Meeting Activitses-the words Corgi and Sewing will never mean the samel ! Not only did we have to contend wtth threading needles but also sorting out knots. One litde glrl earned hersdf the nickname of 'Knotty Nora from Newsome, bLSt had such a lovely smile every time she needed sorting out and didn't seem to mind a bit Thanks go to Sally from Netherton who took charge of the planning. Our guide event 15 set for September at Bradley Wood wtth lots of excttsng activities planned for the girls to participate in. Bridget is well on wwth the organisation of this and liaising with units regarding uptake. We have unfortunately, this year, had to dose our Brownie unit at Marsden but are please to say that both leade[5 and giAs transferred across to our unit at Slaithwaite where we were looking for leaders to tske charge $0 this provided a useful use of resour￿5. COVID has still been present over the year and unfortunatelyfollowtng a lot of planning and risk assessment filling in, a Guide Camp due to be held at Fan Wood was hit with two members of the leadership team testing positive. However. notto be deterred, a further date was arranged and the girls and leaders eventually held a weekend camp in June ratherthan the originally planned May Day Bank Holiday weekend. Huddersfield Dartmouth Division continues to be represented strongly at Couirty Level. Over the last year we have been without County Commissioner and 3 meeting was held in February where the County was visited by the NEE team (Linda Grant Chief Commissioner, plus her deputy and another County Commissionerfrom the North East). As part of th* meeting we were informed that in the

absence of a County Commissioner the Division CommissioneT5 are Trustees and we have been working hard meeting with Advisers and set up teams which will be overseen by different Division Commissioner5. Not a perfect 501ution but one whith hopefully enables the Countyto carry on the good work that Lynne and Kath did for so many years until one is found. Our term of Offi￿ offiaally ended atthis AGM but having seen the Division through lockdown and things staring to become artive again we have agreed to continue in the role for a further year. Finally* it remains for both of us to thank the Dimsion Exec induding Diana as our President for the support they have given over the last year and to you as unrt guiders along with members of the Division Trefoil Guild for your commitment to the Division and Girlguiding. Treasuyerfs R ort forthe Year Ended 31 Marth 2022 I hope you 311 have a copy of the accounts in front of you. The figures for the year ended 31 March 2022 are shown in the column on the left. headed This Yearf. You wlll see from the accounts thatthere was a large surplus for the year of just under £84,0(K), which is due to our share of the proceeds from the sale of the Guide cottage in Holme Village of £88,000. Without this income we would have had a defictt of just over £4,000- Income of £2.630 less expenses of £7.000. The income received included donated profits from the South District depot and funds from the dosure of Netherton Rainbows. The main cost this year was funding the panto. at 3 net cost of almost £5,000, whith all members of the Division were Eiven the opportunFtyto attend. The Division was also able to offer a little support to the units with a donation of £1.15 per head, based on the 2021 census. The other costs were Girlguiding UK subscriptions for members not attached to units, zoom subsuiptions, variou5 long servlce and thanks badges and gifts. Atthe moment the proceeds from the sale of the cottage are in our deposit account with Lloyds bank as risk free investment opportunities for this amount of money for a charity are very limlted. Hopefulty as interest rates stsrt to pick up again we will be able tofind a better home for these funds.
