## **Group Report 2022**

2022 saw the opening of our Squirrels Drey. We opened our doors on 17th January to boys and girls aged 4 and 5 and their parents, for a taster evening. The following week we welcomed 24 youngsters, who waved to their parents at the door with a smile on their face and full of excitement. We haven’t looked back since. We have a great group of young leaders who have supported the leaders over the year.

Other sections are thriving too, finishing the year with very healthy numbers. This is down to the fabulous programmes and activities that our leaders and helpers run.

In May we took the whole group off to Barton under Needwood for a weekend camp. A fabulous weekend was had by all. It was great to see the Squirrels join us for a day too. We took part in our very own Commonwealth Games, we had a visit from a local Bird of Prey centre, our youngers sections tried their hand at circus skills whilst Scouts enjoyed Lazer Tag & Explorers Paintballing off site. A huge thank you to our SAS for their support over the weekend, providing transport, cooking and running activities. Also thank you to Janet Sutton for her efforts in gaining money from the Commonwealth Games Community Fund, which was used buying games equipment for this camp.

Parents, thank you for your continued support, entrusting us to look after your children. It is a pleasure to see them all thrive.

All that is left to say is thank you to all the leaders, SAS, helpers and young leaders who have given their time throughout the year, making this group amazing. Our reputation goes before us. We have received some fabulous feedback and continue to receive many requests asking if we have spaces available.
