||||||Risk and Internal
Control||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
||||||The Group Executive Committee
has identified the major||
||||||risks to which they believe the Group is exposed, these hav
been reviewed
and systems have been established
to||
||||||mitigate against them. The main areas ofconcern that have||
||||||been identified are:||
||||||Damage to the building,
properly and equipment.
The Grou||
||||||would request the use ofbuildings,
property
and equipment||
||||||from neighbouring
organisafions
such as the church,||
||||||community
centre and other Scout Groups. Similar||
||||||reciprocal arrangements
exist with these organisafions.
The||
||||||Group has sufficient buildings
and contents insurance
in||
||||||place to mifigate against permanent
loss.||
||||||Injury to leaders, helpers, supporters
and members. The||
||||||Group through the capitation fees contributes to the Scout||
||||||Associafions
national accident insurance
policy. Risk||
||||||Assessments
are undertaken
before all ackvikes.||
||||||Reduced income from fund raising. The Group is primarily||
||||||reliant upon income from subscriptions
and fundraising.
The||
||||||group does hold a reserve to ensure the confinuity
of||
||||||acbviTies should there be a major reducfion
in income. The||
||||||Committee
could raise the value ofsubscripbons
to increase||
||||||the income to the group on an ongoing basis, either||
||||||temporarily
or permanently.||
||||||Reduction or loss ofleaders. The group is totally reliant **upo**
n||
||||||vo unteem to run and administer
the acbvities ofthe group.|If|
||||||there was a reducbon
in the number
ofleaders to an||
||||||unacceptable
level in a parficular secbon orthe group as a||
||||||whole then there would have to be a contracbon,||
||||||consolidation
or closure ofa seckon. In the worst case||
||||||scenario the complete closure ofthe Group.||
||||||Reduction or loss ofmembers. The Group provides acbvities||
||||||or all young people aged 6to 18.Ifthere was a reducfion|in|
||||||membership
in a parficular secbon orthe group as whole||
||||||en there would have to be a contracbon,
consolidation
or||
||||||losure ofa section. In the worst case scenario the complete||
||||||osure ofthe Group.||
||||||he group has in place systems of internal
controls that are||
||||||d signed to provide reasonable
assurance
against material||
||||||m smanagement
or loss, these indude 2 signatories
for all||
||||||p yments and a comprehensive
insurance
policies to ensure||
||||||th t insurable
risks are covered.||
