| ection 3 | Activities and Achievements |
| A full account ofthe activities and achievements ofthe District is given in the |
| Annual Report, available on request. The highlights this year were as follows: |
| embership | The Covid-19 pandemic lock-down continued to have an impact on the District as |
| a whole. However, all Scout Groups have re-started once the lock-down was |
| eased. Membership figures generally reflect an improvement on 2021 figures but |
| not quite to the levels of2020.The District now has 909Youth (6-18)members and |
| 260Adults (1169in total) with others supporting and helping in ad hoc and non- |
| member roles. This represents an uplift of20% in our youth membership, only 3% |
| for adults, but governance roles show a 12%increase. |
| ctivities | During the tailing from lock-down we continued remote contact and activities via |
| Zoom where necessary. Resuming face to face meetings and activities was at the |
| discretion ofeach Scout Group. |
| We are pleased to report all Scout Groups are now meeting face to face. | |
| Nights away activities have been completed and we are trending towards our aim |
| to see all our young people having the opportunity to spend a night away from |
| home each year. | |
| We continually promote actively engaging and supporting young people in their |
| personal development, empowering them to make a positive contribution to societ |
| This is achieved through the adults working in partnership with young people in a |
| fun, learning environment which promotes our core values, Integrity; Respect; |
| Care; Belief and Co-operation. | |
| harity Fund-raising | There has been no specific charity fund-raising exercise this year. The payment |
| process from the Scouts fundraising and payments go through the Scout District. |
| acilities | Facilities at the Rangemore Scout Centre District HQ and Campsite have re- |
| opened slowing as lock-down ended and groups re-started their outdoor activities. |
| Grants received by the Scout Centre from the local authority ensured maintenance |
| and operational standards were maintained |
| cadership | The District structure is managed through a District Commissioner (acting); with a |
| reviewed structure to reflect our youth movement. We are focused focussed on |
| being Youth Shaped in accordance with the Vision 2018ofthe Scout Association |
| and to prepare better futures 2018-2023through the Skills for Life strategy ofThe |
| Scout Association The Scouts |
| ection 4 | Policies |
| eserves policy | The District's policy on financial reserves is to retain a balance equal to the annual |
| membership fee, some f37,000, and this has been achieved this year. |
| The District also holds reserves in a Scout Association Short-term Investment |
| Account, and we continue to use reserves for the development and support of |
| local Scouting. Although a substantial slice ofour reserves was used in recent |
| ears in the develo ment offacilities at Ran emore, we still hold reserves of |
