Annual Report 2021 of the 2[nd] Market Drayton Scout Group Registered Charity No 524489 Delivered at the Scout Headquarters Elizabeth Court 12.00pm Sunday 1[st] Aug 2021
The GSL Jonathan Jones welcomed everyone. There were 26 members of the Scout Council present and the District Commissioner, Kevin Jeynes

Group Scout Leader’s Report:
Jonny gave a review of the years activities which had mainly been carried out by Zoom and thanked all Leaders for providing mixed programmes over the last year. He also discussed the recent improvements to the site and the addition of a climbing wall outside. Planning for next year’s camps will begin this September.
Chairs report:
Derek seconded the good work carried out by Leaders via zoom and thanked parents for keeping the children involved with the Group during the difficult year. A lot of improvements to the grounds was completed during lockdown thanks to several grants.
The Group received donations from Clive Jones, Trussel Trust, Town Council, and the Government Covid 19 fund. Also, thanks to an anonymous donor who gave us around £1,000 worth of camping equipment no longer required. Finally ongoing thanks to Market Drayton Mowers who service our ride on mower annually at no charge.
Treasurer’s report:
Keith gave a supportive statement that he was pleased with the way the Group was using the funds wisely for the improvements of the grounds and buildings.
The audited accounts had been circulated and adopted by the committee previously. There were no queries on the accounts as presented.
P Barlow was retained as Auditor for 2022
Appointment of Officers:

Committee - Elected: Jay Farmer, Mel Barnes, Priscilla Parsons - Nominated: Ian Windler, Gareth Evans, Stephen Huyton, Carole Holland
All appointments were proposed for acceptance by Ian Windler and seconded by Jonathan Jones and were carried by the members present.
Presentation of Awards: The District Commissioner, Kevin Jeynes, expressed his pleasure to be attending the AGM and stated that Market Drayton was an excellent example to the District of a successful Scout Group. He presented long service awards and Awards for Merit as follows: Gareth Jenner – Award for Merit and 25 years service certificate
Amanda Jenner - Award for Merit and 25 years service certificate
Jonathan Jones – Commissioner’s Commendation Award and 10 years service certificate
Lindsey Glover – 30 years service certificate
Keith Jenner – 5 years service certificate
Kelly Brammer – 5 years service certificate
Stephen Huyton - 5 years service certificate
Derek Farmer - Award for Merit and 5/10 and 15 years service certificates
