The Tnjslees are apFointed in accordance with the Policy.
Organisalion and Rules of The Scout Association.
The Group is managed by the GfOUP Trustee Board, the
members of which are the 'Charity Trustees. of the Swul
Group which 15 an educational charity. As charity trustees
they are respansibse for comptyiThJ with legislation applicable
to charitie5. This indudes the registralK)n, keeping proper
accounts and making returns to the Charity Commission as
appropriate.
The Trustee Board ￿nsISts of the Chair, Treasurw and up to
10 Trustees lindLKling 4 Ex Officio Trustees. and up to 4 c
opted Trustees) and meets every 3 months. Members of the
Trustee Board eomplele Bein9 a Scouts Trustee leamin9
within the first 6 month$ ofp)ining the Board.
Thi5 Group Trustee Board e￿$ts to make sure the charity is
welkmanaged. risks are assessed and mitigated. buildirMJ$
and equipment a￿ in good working order. and everyone
follthvs legal requirements and the organisats"on's policies and
rules. Their support helps other volunteers run high-quality
and safe programmes that gives young people skills for life.

The Group Trustee Board identifies the major risks to which
they believe the Group ts exposed. reviews and establishes
systems to mitigate against them. The main areas of ts)ncem
that have been hlenlffied are..
Damage to Ihe buibJiThJ. propety and equipment.
Injury lo teadets, helpers. supporters and members. The
Group through the ¢apitation fees ¢ontn"butes to the Scout
Assrxiations national accident insurance poliw. Risk
Assessments are undertaken before all aclivibes.
InsuffKient income. The Group is wimarity reliant upon
income from subscriptions and fundraising. The group strtves
to hold a TesÈrve to ensure the continuity ol activities should
there be a major reduction in income. The Board could raise
the value of subscriptions to In¢￿ase the income lo the
gfOUP on an ongoing basis. either lemporarity or pemianenty.
Reduction or Ios5 of leaders or members. The group is totslly
reliant upon volunteers lo run and administer the activities of
the group and provides activities for young people aged 6-14.
If there was a reduelw)n in the number of leaders or
members to an unacceptable level in a particular seclion or
the group as a ￿ole then there would have to be a
ntraction, consolidation or closure ol a section. In the worst
case scenario the rA)mpkte closure of the Group.
