common intere5ts- everything from Tai Chi. Yoga. Aerial and Tap aasses to local history, frorn table
tennis to quizzes and from theatre to music.
The Management Comrnittee is appointed annually. by a mixture of dirert elettion at the AGM and

day to-day running of the Hall repairing the fabric of the building and maintaining the facilities.
The Committee h35 to comply with various responsibilities and legal requirements such as those
relating to health and safety Matters. There are also li￿nSing laws. relating to the regulation of
public entertainment and the sale of alcohol.
As a landlord. the Comrnittee also has an obligation to its tenant. which Is exerclsed on its behalf by
Morri5 Marshall and Poole as our agent.
Additional requirernents arise out of the fart that the Hall 15 a Grade 2 Listed Buildin& and any
repairs and alterations ha¥e to take account of the relevant regulations.
OUR FAauTIES AND RESOURCES
The Village Hall provide5 the facilitie5 for a whole range of activities. It has two meeting rooms. the
Gir15' Parlour and the Library. The main hall can accornrnodate concerts. dances and exhibitions.
There is also a Snooker Room.
On the ground floor there is a fully equipped kitchen and a bar. with a wheelchair-accessible tollet
complete with alami. On the first floor there is a single toilet and 5rnall kitchen.

The Committee Continues to Improve the fabric of the building from year to year as funds allow.
Given that the Hall is over l(M) years old. it is in remarkably good Shape in 8eneral and the external
aspect of the lovely. listed building looks very fine. Of course, with an old and beautiful building such
as this. further work r￿ed5 to be done for which funding has to be found, alongside the constant
annual support from the Llandinam Community Interest Company and Community CouDciI for whith
we are m05t grateful. The Trustees aim to hire local tradesmen. when possible. but specialist work
increasingly requires 50urcing from outside due to a shortage of expertise.
Nevertheless, it 15 3 great pleasure to report that the chimneys and roof have been repaired and the
fire alarm and emergency lighting systems have been upgraded. the floor of the mèin hall has a150
been stripped and refurbished to preseNe it for future events. we have also replaced some of the
tables in the main hall to help with events external and internal paintwork has also been completed .
The Snooker Room is in full use again for the purpose for which it was intended. The bar. ably

managed by Marg has again along with nurnerous social events has played a v¢tal role in our finan￿5
throughout this period.
USE OF THE FAaLmES
The Hall is used primarily by groups from within the wllage and many of these groups are
represented dirertty or indirectly on the Management Committee. Regular users include Scrabble
players. Quiz Nights. Games Nights. the Gardening Club, and the Wl. Regular Saturday coffee
momings and Tea at Three have been held for the whole Community. The Willage Hall has been well
placed to offer a bar from Fridays to Sundays. The bar manager is Marg Murphy and she is SUPPOrted
and assisted by a growing band of helpers. This dedicated band have done a heroic job keeping the
beer flowing and done wonders for morale in general, not to mention maintaining the income
stream for the Hall. This is very demanding work and we ore m05t grateful to them all for their
commitment. dedication and professionalism.
The village Post Office operates in the Library on Tuesday mornings from 9.￿ to 11-(M) a.m.
Additionally. Tracy Morgan, with assistance from Sue Jackson, manages the 'Pop Up Coffee Shop, in
the Hall. offering a selection of hot beverage5 and treats from 9-30 to 11-30 a.rn. This means that
the village has a social Spa￿ for us all to meet and have a chat as well as use the full range of Post
Office facilities. We are extremely grateful to Colin and Mary Davies of Llangurig Post Office for
providing this important service.
This year, we held more meetin85, coffee mornings. kmngo session5. rnonthly.tea at 3. on Thursdays.
a Christmas dinner, a New Yeavs Eve celebration. and several events organized by Marg.
Any ideas for the use of the Hall and its facilities are always warmly welcomed by the Committee.
This is partly a question of ecoMmics. to ensure the test wssible income for the Hall but also
because the interests and needs of the inhabitants cannot always be met by organisations based In
the village.
FINANCES
The accounts are prepared in accordance with the rules regulating registered charities, in particular
the Statement of Recommended Practice ISORPI. The funds fall below the amount requiring a full
audit and are, instead. independently examined. A copy of which is available on request. and which
is lodged with the Charity Commission.
Despite the challenges of recent years. it is good to be able to report that there are no matters for
concern in the way the accounts are kept or the way in which they are reported. The accounts for
the period 2024-2025 and the balance sheet as at 31 Ottober 2025. are attached to this report.
MANAGEMENT
The Trusrees have consFdered current Health and Safety and Fire Risk Assessment requirements to
ensure community safety- We continue to review our procedures and trust that they will help all
users of the Hall to operate safely and efficiently. To assist in the efficient running of the Hall we rely
on some of the IM￿rtant roles in support of the committee and Myself ourTreasurer: Louise

are important role5 in the rnanagement of the Hall.

There are three sub-committees: Restoration and Maintenan￿. led by Mike Jones. the Bar, now led
by Marg and Fundraisin& in the very capable hands of Tracey Morgan.
In addition to the day-to4ay rna1ntenan￿ of the premises. the Restoration and Maintenance
Committee 15 responsible for arranging and coordinating the continuing upkeep of the Hall. The
Maintenance Schedule ensures that items such as fire alarms. fire extinguishers and the electrical
5YStem5 are checked on a regular basis. that the Hall complies with relevant legislation and that
preventative maintenance is carried out to preserve the fabric of the building as required. The Bar
Committee supports the bar manager suggesting appropriate prites, though they have to be agreed
by the whole committee. making Sure that stotks are at an appropriate level and that any bar staff
are properly trained.
Our Village Hall is one of the m05t used. versatile and beautiful of its kind anywhere. That it keeps
goin8 is thanks to the Trustees. who give rnany hours of time to its affairs. as well as the many
volunteers who have helped with setting up for events and general tasks including sprin8 cleaning
etc. Without them the Hall would not be the vibrant hub of the Community that we all know it to be.
It is wonderful to be able to report that the Village Hall 15 Still fully open and is looking forward to the
future with confidence and l am grateful to all for support in my first year as Chair.

VISION FOR THE FUTURE
There is always further work to be done on the fabrit of the Hall to ensure that the building remains
strutturally sound and as energy efficient as possible and that the original beauty of the building
inside and outside is maintained. We have made progress again this year, with the chimney stacks
repaired and cleaned, some internal decoration completed, and we will be able to do more, not least
on the internal refurbishment of the Hall. in the year5 ahead. We should not forget the Hall's own
history and the history of Llandinam whith is bound up with it. It gives a sense of continuity and
identity that will surely be needed in the future. Our Trustees are ¥ital to our endea¥our5. and we
are delighted to wekome new people who can bring their own skills and gifts to our work. We hope
that more volunteer5* young and old, will feel motNated to follow in the footsteps of those who are
leaving us. We want to encourage people to help in the Hall in whatever capacity and with whatever
skills and time they have. The Hall can count on a bright future. but we always need more people to
step forward with new enthusiasms and energy.

Our Village Hall 15 excellent, and the community is artive, but it requires effort to maintain. Our
success comes from generations of effort. We are confident that that effort will be sustained into
the future.
