The charity's continuing aim Is to provide a Soaal WeWar8 Centre and Recreation Grounds for the use of its
beneficiaries with the obj8Ct of improwng the o)nditions of lrfe for the beneficiarfes. This É5 done via the provlsion of
sporting faTrliti8S.
Achievements and performance
The Trustees are pleased with ttte improved resuhs especially glven (he difficull Qonomic dimale. How8ver, they
realise they cannot b8 CDmplacent in the light of ongoing infiationary pre$5ures and seek to consolidatè results for
tho future.
Flnancial review
Th8 charity's income has increased by nearfy 17% year over year to £64,799 ILSP from £55,461). Thls increase is
attributable to Llay Minors Wetlare Institute Limited becoming profitable again in the year and being able to donate
surplus profits of £12,220. Excluding this, charitsble income actually fell £2,883 in th8 year. The re8son for thls
decreas& was due to no grants being received in the year, compared with £6,547 received from Coalfields
regeneration trust in 2024. The majorily of this shortfall has been made up lor by a 51gnificant incr8as8 in MUGA
hire income of £4,496162%1. Expenditure has remained cons1Stent with 8 5m811 increase of £1,08412%1 on 2024.
Overall, this ha5 led to 8 surplug of £5,124 compared to ll dcficit of £3,130 in the prior year. Th8 chaTity has p0S￿ve
net current assets amounting to £22,37112024 .' £14,667).

independent charlty. The Board of Trustees comprises up to Six mernbers including an elected chair. The general
control and management of the charity is vested in a management comrnlttee members including the Trustee5 and
Tepresentativ8s frorn each of the Institute's sporting Sections. the National Union of Mineworkers and the National
Coal Board.

Trustees are appointed for a temi of four years and must sign a declaration of acceptance to act in accordance with
the governing document. Any vacancy is notified to the appoinbng body and any COTnpetent Trustge may be re-

The financial statements h8ve been prepared in accordance with Ihe charity's goveming document, the
charikn.es Act 2011, FRS 102'The Financial Reporting Stsndard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland
and the Charities SORP 'Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Ststement of Recommended Pracb"c8
applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance wtth the Finanryal Reporting Standard

FRS 102.

At the time of approving the financial staternents. th8 trustees have a reasonabl¢ ¢xpedation that the ¢*arity
has adequate resources to continue in operaUonal existence for the foreseeable future. Thus the trustees
continue to adopt the going concem basis of accounting in preparing the financial statements.
1.3 Charitable funds
Unrestrlcted funds are available fc* USÈ 8t the discretion of the trustee5 in fvrtheran￿ of Ih&r charitable
objectives.
Restrict8d funds are subject lo specific conditions by donors or grantors as to how they may be used. The
purposes and uses of the restricted fLJnds are set out in the notes to the financial statements.

All incoming resources are included In th$ Stalement of Finanaal Activttses when the charity is entiued lo the
income. The following specTfic policies are applied to P8rbcular categories of income..
Incoming resources from donations and legacies is received by way of grants and donations and are
included in full in the Statement ol Finanual Activities where receivable.
Grants, including
govemment grants, where entitlement 15 not contlitional on the delivery of a specific performance by
the charity, are recognised when the charity becomes uncondibonally entitled to the grant.
