## **Annual Report 2021/22**

The Charity’s objective to provide sporting & recreational facilities for the benefit of the residents of Treeton & the surrounding area has again been impacted during the year to 31[st] March 2022 by the Covid pandemic.

Although the Government lock down was eased during March 2021, the Clubhouse could only reopen for external trade from 12 April. This was followed by indoor reopening during May, further loosening of restrictions during July 2021 & finally all restrictions being lifted in February 2022.

Throughout the year the Charity worked within these conditions, providing for many weeks, one of the few places in the local area where people & families could meet, socialize & take part in sporting activities. Attendances at the facilities remained at a high level & special thanks are due to one of our Trustees, Nick Kendall, who continued to organize & administer the Clubhouse on a volunteer basis.

I would also like to thank my fellow Trustees & the many volunteers for their hard work maintaining the cricket & football playing fields and other facilities, as well as their efforts in obtaining grant funding & donations. During the past year we have been successful in obtaining the following -

A £3,000 grant was received in June 2021 from Banks Community Foundation in respect of the purchase of outside furniture for the Clubhouse.

The first stage of drainage improvements to the main football pitch were carried out in August 2021 at a cost of £17,580. This was 75% funded by the Football Foundation, together with £3,000 donated by Treeton Terriers Football Club. Further secondary drainage work will be carried out during 2022.

We have recently been awarded a £10,000 grant from the ECB County Grants fund for improvements to the toilets in the Clubhouse. The expected cost will be circa £15,000 with the balance of funding being provided by the Clubhouse trading bar. The work will be caried out in the coming weeks.

We were also pleased to accept 2 donations totaling £15,500 from Smith Painters Limited, a local based construction business.

During the past year although there have been no formal meetings of the trustees, the Chairman has forwarded periodic reports as to issues requiring their attention. No change of trustee numbers or personnel has occurred during this period.

On behalf of the Charity

Keith Haynes – Chairman
