Chairman's Re ort- March 202 Once more you won't be surprised to hearthat this report will be dominated by our new build. I did write a year ago'Build it end they will come,, we have'50rt ot, finished the project Iwill it ever be finished I hear you say) with the'work and Play in a Colliers Day, mural due for completion on May lending itself to an 'opening event, yet to be arranged but I was thinking late May/June. Whatever people think about Value for money, money well spent orthe actu81 f inal design. for the £28000'investment' and lots and lots offabulous ongoing workdone ty ourwonderful volunteers and the paybackteam. no one can denywe are now sat in a much, much. much improved facility. On our opening day~ I think we should encourage involvernent from not just all our members from each section but also from our partners.. Parish Councilors. neighbours. National Coal Mine Museum (Pit Ponies). RichardlPayBack. Church ladies, Brownies etc.. Opening dayaside. we havethefacilityand nowwe need to make itwork, need to make it pay for itself, need to make It crack... So how has ouryear been? Once more we've had oureh811enges. butwe seem in 8 much better place than we have been in most areas: Fin8ncially: I know Bob worries about the money side, but all bills are covered Ino I'm not mentioning VATI & we are more viable than this time last year.. P8vilion: the'forth bridge, is getting most of our jobs done. we've received more grants to help, the mural depicting our historical past Is p18nned. Cricket: we seem to be going down to one senior side in the Huddersfield League which is a blow but the Allstarsljunior sections seem much more positive. Bowls'.- Although the flrst team suffered relegation from the Mirfield league once more. there certainly seems a much more upbeat mood around thegreen especiallyand a lot of workhas been done with the help ofthe payback team which willshow better results off and on the green in the near future. Junior Football: Ossett Albion U15's & U13's girl team5 have used both carparks (when clashing) on Sgturdays &various HorburyTown Juniorteams have usedthe pitch with my Emilyworkingthe café & making DGlus a little proflt on mo*winter Sunday mornings. Various groups have also started to use the facility:. PACT meetings, Save our Sitlington & PC Meetings to date. So what about goingforward? 1. We still have the following building works to complete the project:. Replacement Fascialguttering Cavity Wall Insulation Baby Changing Facility (disabled WCI Completion of the front storage area & retaining wall. {£800 wlc 7 April) 2. We need a business plan, we need to be self-sufficient giving priority to our sections whilst utilising our new space. new kitchen and terraces. 3. Last but certainly not least- in recent rnonths there's been a real positivity around the club. from new and old, which is Showing inside and out-on and around the p18ying surfaces and within the pavilion. it's been a pleasure to pop up when I can. I'm 8ure I'm not alone in feeling this.. .let's embrace this with everything we do...
