A deficit of £10,350 was dLse directly to the massive increase in gas and elertriclty which afferted the whole country. Even after government SUPPOrt these costs rose by É15, 109 over the previous year. Replacement low energy119htsng and increased heat monitoring helped manage the situation. Going forward wilh energy costs havlng now reduced significantly, it is not expected to impart to this exient durlng 2024 and the goal will be to achieve a break even. The laryest maintenance cost in 2023 was for re-decoratin9, which has been on hold Ssn prlor to Ihe covld years and thos is planned to continue on a rolling annual basis. Income from long term rentals Malh$ very 9ood with recent enqulrle5 ft>r •ddltional long tem rental of facllltles. Our charity exlsts to provide a space in which local people can come together for a range of actlvlties and can become a community. The Recreational Club and Showgroup continuè to be particularly well supported whllsl Table Tennis a competing in the local league and Knit and Natter bring a number of new members to the club. Thursday Club have seen thelr numbers declinin9 recently and extra publicity 15 planned to help malntain this section which Is enjoyed particularfy by our retired members. Local families are benefitting rrtsm weekly meetings of the local Scouts club. Slimrner5 Club ond the new Yoga club whilst child care is available through Wellingtons nursery.
