## **Beckwithshaw Village Hall**

## **Treasurer’s Financial Report for the AGM Year Ended 31 August 2025**

## **Overview**

The Village Hall remains in a stable financial position. Income streams from hall hire, donations, and community sections have provided a strong foundation, while careful management of expenditure has ensured sustainability.

## **Income**

- **Sections Contributions** brought in funds from Badminton (£230), Football (£1000), School (£6745), and the Parish Council (£450).

- **Social Section** contributed £1481.31 stated as income of £1889.31 minus £408 rebate to Rural Arts in Sundries

- **Donations** for general use totalled **£8,932** , compared with **£8,658** in the previous year.

- **Cottage rental** contributed £6731 compared with £5874 in the previous year.

Overall receipts remain consistent with last year, with modest declines in donations offset by grants and interest income.

## **Expenditure**

- **Rates & Water** : £697

- **Lighting & Heating** : £2,630

- **Insurance** : £2,256 – this represented over £1000 saving on last year’s insurance total £3262.87

- **Repairs & Maintenance** : £10,580 – more than doubled from last year’s total of £5004.50

- **Licences and Compliance** : £85

- **Housekeeping and Wi-Fi** : £1,520

- **Bank charges** : £69

- **Sundries** : £754

The largest single cost was repairs and maintenance (£10,580), reflecting essential works to keep the Hall safe and operational. Utilities and insurance remain significant ongoing commitments.

## **Balance**

Despite higher maintenance costs, the Village Hall closed the financial year with a **good surplus** , ensuring reserves remain healthy. The Hall continues to meet all its financial obligations, with no outstanding liabilities.

## **Reserves and Projections**

## **Current Reserves**

As of 31 August 2025, Beckwithshaw Village Hall has a total of £36534 in reserves, up from **£27,743** last year. This includes:

- **Bank - Charitable Account:** £11218

- **Bank - BMM Account:** £24627

The total reserves represent a stable financial position, with sufficient liquidity to manage operational expenses and unexpected costs. The positive balance of **£8790.55** in excess receipts over payments has been added to the reserves, contributing to a stronger financial outlook.

## **Projections for the Next Financial Year**

Looking ahead to the financial year ending 31 August 2025, Beckwithshaw Village Hall is expected to maintain a healthy financial position, with key income sources remaining steady.

- **Revenue Projections:**

   - Contributions from sections, donations, and hall rental income are expected to continue at similar levels. The projection of school income will decrease due to backdated payments being made in September last year.

   - Efforts will be made to seek additional grants and funding opportunities to support maintenance and community activities.

- **Expenditure Projections:**

   - Routine expenses such as lighting & heating, and repairs & maintenance will remain key areas of spending.

   - There may be planned investments in infrastructure improvements or additional services, depending on available funds.

## **Acknowledgements**

The Committee extends thanks to all who have supported the Hall financially or through volunteer time. Your continued support is vital to maintaining this valuable community asset.
