Trustees annual report 2024-2025
It has been a difficult year for the club. We were forced into another change of merchandise branding but that’s going well now.
We have had issues with Bulldogs and increase in rents, utilities and gameday fees. Not been able to use facilities on many Saturdays and reneging on Bowling Green etc.
Positively there has been an increase in female participation and u15s girls winning the HW cup. Ladies opposition pulled out and the u12s and u14s boys playing in the final.
Pink weekend was successful with more teams than ever this year raising monies for breast cancer charities and ourselves.
Tots continue to thrive with good numbers. Masters also continues to be popular with their annual Blackpool masters festival the highlight. U8s won an award from Northern Rail with equipment, footwear, clothing, kit and 60 tickets to grand final. Some older girls and boys have been selected for scholarships. Open age had a mixed season but finished off really well. Richard Lawley been appointed to take on the role of Head coach in 2026.
Something in the pipeline for 2026 are sessions with SEN children with a view to integrating them into our teams.
Thankyou to all the volunteers for their hard work during the season. Unfortunately our treasurer Tina is stepping down. Particular thanks go to her for all her hard work since taking over from Louise. Daz Rhodes has also recently stepped down from the committee and as a trustee. He worked tirelessly for the club particularly laying the drainage on Staincliffe and maintaining 3 pitches. We are actively looking to recruit new committee members.
We have 3 good playing pitches in mini mod, Staincliffe and Taylor st. 3 floodlit areas in mini mod, all weather and GT stand and a fully equipped gym. We also have the best changing rooms in the area too. Batley Multi Academy Trust have been given the all weather pitch from the council as it sits on education land. We are working closely and successfully with them to develop a good relationship.
Now we need to navigate the way forward together in a positive way and positive beginnings in 2026.
