Trustees annual report 2023-2024

Most of our 15 teams are strong in numbers with the exception of a couple. We struggle to take age groups beyond u16s to u18s level. We have around 100 brilliant volunteers who help with coaching, first aid, being a team manager, a gameday managing, selling raffle tickets and helping in the kitchen. The ladies, Masters and Open age section continues to grow. We want to promote our club through our social media streams and Taster sessions to ensure further participation from all age groups.

In March 2024 the committee voted to changed the working name from Batley Boys to Batley ARLFC to reflect the diversity within the club.

Pink Weekend in conjunction with Batley Bulldogs remains a date on the calendar that everyone enjoys. It brings together teams at our club and others in the community game to play in festival rugby on the Bulldogs pitch alongside various activities to enjoy for the children.

We are working with the local council to secure the lease of the Hyrstmount all weather pitch. This will help with winter training and also give us a revenue stream to hire out to local organisations.

We have a team of Child welfare officers who help to keep our children safe whilst in our care.

Our committee meets every month to ensure our club runs smoothly with appointed officials. This is a committed group of people who give up their time for the benefit of our club. Working alongside we have a Junior committee to help with the development of the younger members of our club.

At our AGM in October 2024 our chairman expressed the sad news that our ex treasurer and committee member Louise Rush is in poor health.
