Section D
Achievements and performance
Summary ofthe main
achievefflents of the charlty
durlng thè year
This past year has been very difficult for the AssorAation financially. as
VK are based in a deprived area. and many people found it hard to pay
for room hire when th￿r incorrÉ was very tight.
It was becoming very clear to th6 trustees that we needed to concentrate
and b&'ng more self-sustaining than constantly chasing funding, which
often left us on a knife edge, and the building was in much need of repair.
which we didn't have the spare cash to put nght
In August 2023 we leased out the old building to a Communrty Shop and
the rental from that has enabled us to provide new Community
Cenlre. one in the next St￿et to our original homè and one in the new
devdopmenl.
This has made us financially secure for at least the next 10 years and will
allow us to do more for our community
So along with moving venues decorating and setting up the new ¢entres
we managed lo carry on delivering our semce for the residents. and after
only 8 mnths we are already seeing more people coming lo￿vard to use
the new cenlres.
