In undertaking the actiVFtses during the yèar, the Trustees have had
regard to the gutyjance issued by the Charity Commission on public
benefrt.
Activittes have included raising fiJnds and seeking grants in order to
maintain and improve the Village Hall as a venue for organisations within
the localty and provKling this resou￿ at a low t))st so that all inhabitants
can benefft.
In nomal times the Hall hosts adivities for people of all ages, including..
art classes. dance., drama. exercise,. music., IM. meditation and other
¢ommunty and social gatherin98. It is also a popular venue for private
parties, charty fundraising events, Meetings and other events, 811 of
which have senied to pla￿ rt at the centre of village Itfe. These activities
were seriously curtailed during Covid restrictions, but had retumed to
nomial levels in 2022r23.

achievements of the charity
during the year
The main achievements of the yearvRre the retum to a full programme
of events at the Village Hall following the lth'ng of Covid restrictions and
the continuatj'on of our programme of improvements to the fabriG of the
Hall. The latter induded the refvrbishment of the main kitchen with the
replaoment of worktops and the installats'on of a freezer, and the
commissionirKJ of a building survey to ￿1p us to Priofitise the projects in
our latest 5-Year plan for improvements.

In the event of a further forced closure of the Hall. the Trustees consider

expendtture Wrth the inflation rate reaching double figures in this period
and our commitment to fund further improvements to the Hall, the

regular users back to the Hall wth discounted hire rates following the
easing of COVKJ restn'ciions bwas successfiJl. and that the Hall's funding

levied on users of the Hall, supplemented by some fvndraisiThJ and
occasional grant applications for larger scale projects.
