Salford Priors Memorial Hall
Treasurer’s report 2016
In terms of the balance sheet then the position has barely changed and the Hall is showing net assets of £34659 compared to £34983 in the previous year.
Our charitable investment has maintained its value in difficult market conditions, having risen substantially over the years and having proved a good investment, the current fund value being £13667 (£13711 previous year).
Hall bookings are slightly down on last year but income has remained roughly the same thanks to a generous donation received of £1000.
Expenditure incurred during the year is considerably reduced mainly due to the fact that we spent circa £11000 in the previous year on the refurbishment of the hall. The most significant change in expenditure is a vastly improved energy cost achieved by removing the costly (and inefficient) storage heater system with an efficient and remotely (via wifi) controlled gas central heating system. An electricity refund of £1014 was received based on an overpayment in the previous year, new contracts have been arranged by John Bradfield at favourable rates.
