## **Treasurer’s Report Luddington Village Hall Accounts for the Year Ending 31[st] December 2025**

As is usual, the accounts have been prepared primarily on a receipts & payment basis & are still in draft format prior to being signed off by an independent examiner. The previous year’s accounts were signed off by the independent examiner without amendment & uploaded onto the Charity Commission website.

## Highlights of 2025 were:

1. A profit of £6,794 was made after allowing for accrued expenditure to EDF for electricity used during December 2025 amounting to £1,064.

2. The resurfacing of the car park was undertaken & a huge thank you to Luddington Parish Council who provided 100% grant funding for this. Apart from a better surface to park on, this has added to the ‘kerb appeal’ of the Village Hall.

3. Other improvements included the fitting/moving of existing/additional heaters, 3 additional electric Velux blinds & a lockable cupboard in the kitchen. This latter item has made the running of events a lot easier in that, heavy items previously stored in the loft space, no longer have to be moved into the kitchen & back again!

4. We are now registered with HMRC to claim gift aid for both specific donations & cash donations & received £957. This covered the previous 2 tax years up to April 2025. The next claim will be made after the 5[th] April 2026 for the previous year.

5. The insurance cover has not only been increased to cover the value of the extension completed the previous year, but also the work of the Trustees & volunteers should anything untoward happen.

6. General income has increased to £28,140 against £23,925 the previous year with increased hire charges & donations. Against this expenditure has remained largely in line year on year once building work costs in 2024 are extracted (£2025 £20,315 2024 £26,692 - £6,365 Building Works = £20,327).

7. Balances held increased to £51,821 so that, after taking into account a reserves policy of £8,000, leaves approximately £44,000 for further improvements to the Village Hall.

2026 Finances & Hall Improvements.

1. At the end of 2025 we secured our first Green Room regular booking by the HCRG Healthcare Group & we are seeing an upturn in other bookings.

2. Against this the main single item of expenditure is electricity costs which, whilst fixed until 1[st] November 2026, VAT & Climate Control Levy costs will increase as it is based on the proportion of grants & donations against hire income year on year.

3. In order to reduce future electric costs, we are looking to install solar panels & a battery at the hall before 1[st] November this year. We already have viable quotes & are seeking grant funding to cover some of the cost. Projections indicate that, once in place, it will reduce our annual electricity costs by about 50% per year, dependent on the amount of sunshine & likely feed in tariff, with the installation cost being covered over approximately 5 years.

4. We are in a similar position with regard to improving the acoustics with improvements likely to take place later this year.

We do have other possible improvements in mind including refurbishing of the kitchen, general decoration, internal notice boards & outside maintenance.

Luddington Village Hall is run by unpaid Trustees & Volunteers with a purpose of bringing the local community together to enjoy events & improve social wellbeing. New Volunteers, however little time they can spare, are always welcome & it is a way of meeting new friends.

We also need more support from the community in attending events at the hall such as the weekly Wednesday Coffee Morning 10am to 12 noon & monthly talks. These & other events are advertised & highlighted in the quarterly Newsletter delivered to all homes in the locality.
