_Note 1. The charity holds £300 in respect of refundable booking deposits from hall users. These balances are held as liabilities because they represent cash received that will either be refunded to the hirer upon successful completion of the booking or retained by the charity if booking conditions are breached. Three deposits were partially forfeited during this financial year, totalling £70. The forfeited amounts have been included in lettings income._

_Note 2. The Project North Annexe fund is a restricted fund representing monies raised specifically for the demolition, redvevelopment, construction, and outfitting of the building's North Annexe. During the financial year, these funds were raised through donations and village fundraising events. The Management Committee have determined that these funds are held in reserve and can only be expended in direct fulfillment of the project's objectives._

## **Treasurer’s Report for Year Ending 31[st] March 2026**

The Village Hall cash balance at 31[st] March 2026 was £53,238. The balance has benefitted considerably this year from donations and fundraising eDorts by the community for the proposed works to demolish and replace the North Annexe.

The cash balance is made up of:

Current Account £ 1,482 Deposit Account £ 51,707 Petty Cash £ 48 **Total £ 53,238**

The balance is allocated as follows:

Hall User’s Deposits Held £ 300 North Annexe Fundraising (restricted funds) £ 21,279 Reserves (12 months running costs) £ 10,000 Village Hall Available Funds £ 21,659 **Total £ 53,238**

## **Income**

increase has been the result of fundraising (including donations) which has increased from £2,813 last year to an impressive £25,780 this year. The community response to the need to fundraise for the replacement of the North Annexe has been remarkable and the Management Committee are extremely grateful for this expression of support.

## **Outgoings**

Total outgoings for the year were £14,416 up from £8,824 last year. Fundraising expenses have increased by approximately £3.1k this year as an expected result of the increase in fundraising activity. There has also been a significant increase in spending in electricity this year. This was a result of marginally insuDicient payments to Scottish Power in 2023/4 and 2024/5, which led to a small debt. Scottish Power’s reaction was to insist on a higher than necessary monthly payment which has resulted in a £2k+ credit on the Village Hall’s electricity account. This will be resolved this year with a move to a cheaper and more rational supplier as soon as the contractual obligation allows.

## **Reserves**

The Management Committee has resolved to maintain a £10k Reserve Fund, which is suDicient to cover 12 months of outgoings. The monies raised through fundraising activity, and the rest of the funds available to the Village Hall, will likely be spent replacing the North Annexe in the next financial year.

## **Summary**

replace the North Annexe will present a challenge to this. The Committee are resolved to continue to focus on fundraising and the securing of grants and donations, with the objective of delivering a similarly strong financial position, once the North Annexe project is complete.
