Before Before our our courses courses began began for[for] neuro-divergent neuro-divergent[people] people all[all] staff staff and[and] volunteers volunteers were were given given training training by by Lee Lee Burden Burden from from Autism Autism West West Midlands. Midlands. Our Our courses courses now now include: include:

Our Our Art Art leads, leads, Ellenormay Ellenormay Hocking Hocking and and Bev Bev Charles,[Charles,] are are truly truly exceptional exceptional at[at] what what they[they] do. do. A A[safe] safe collaborative collaborative space space has has been been created created for[for][autistic] autistic[adults] adults[and] and families families where where our our clients clients[and] and[their] their carers carers can can explore explore[their] their own own[creativity] creativity[and] and socialise socialise[in] in a a supportive supportive space. space. Allen's Allen's Cross Cross Community Community Association Association[also] also provides provides rooms rooms[for] for hire[hire][to] to aid[aid] local local delivery delivery of[of][services] services and and a a broader broader range range of of activities activities for for local local people,[people,] e.g. e.g. Faith Faith groups, groups, Little Little Sunshine's Sunshine's Stay Stay and and[Play] Play group, group, Forest School, Forest School, Dance, Dance,[Karate,] Karate,[Fred's] Fred's Friendship Friendship group, group, Zumba, Zumba,[In] In Her Her Shoes,[Shoes,][St] St Bart's[Bart's] Local Local Pantry Pantry After After 40 40 years years of of having having our our site site as as their their Church, Church, it it was was a a sad sad day day when when we we bid bid farewell farewell to to the the 7th 7th day day Adventists Adventists who who moved moved to[to] a a church. church. The The SDA SDA have have always always been been most most supportive supportive[of] of[all] all we we do do and and are are much much missed. missed.

Without Without the[the] 60[60] Volunteers Volunteers who who[help] help[in] in[the] the community community garden, garden, lunch lunch club,[club,] Shed Shed[project] project and[and][St] St[Bart's] Bart's Local Local[Pantry,] Pantry, Allen's Allen's Cross Cross Community Community[Centre] Centre could could[not] not operate.[operate.] We We[rely] rely on on our our volunteers volunteers[to] to[help] help maintain maintain[the] the[site,] site, run run groups, groups, support support[events,] events,[and] and offer offer friendship friendship[and] and support support[to] to members. members. The The quality quality of of our our volunteers volunteers is[is] such such that that when when we we appoint appoint new new staff, staff, our our volunteers volunteers are are[often] often those those who who apply apply[and] and are are successful successful[at] at[the] the[interview.] interview.

A A grant grant from from B&Q B&Q was was successfully successfully applied applied for for and and used used[to] to repair repair the the roof roof in in the the main main building building and and improve improve electrics. electrics. A A major major cost[cost] will[will][be] be a a completely completely new new roof roof for[for] Florence Florence[Pickering] Pickering Centre.[Centre.] This This[is] is now nowa a top[top] priority. priority.
