To provide buildings, facilities and open space to
allow children/young people, elderly/old people,
other charities/voluntary bodies and the general
public to pursue ed ucation/training and
sport/recreation for the benefit of the
inhabitants of the Parish of Denstone and its
immediate vicinity without distinction of sex,
political or religious or other opinions
Runs a Community Centre
Provision of a hall, meeting room, kitchen and
storeroom for use by community groups. These
include a club for the elderly.

The hall is run by volunteers with the exception
of a paid caretaker and cleaner. The volunteers
run typically 5 events during the year to raise
additional funds to help cover ongoing
maintenance and enhancements

Achievements and Performance
SORP referenGe
The Art Group meet most Tuesday evenings and
other village organisations such Garden Guild,
Women's Institute met once or twice per month.
The Tuesday Club which caters for senior citizens
continues to meet on the first Tuesday of each
month. The hall was also used for church fund
raising events and funeral teas for deceased
villagers. The Parish Council holr their meetings
monthly
The Amateur Dramatic group (Denstone Players)
continues and performed two plays and a
pantomime in the hall during 2023.
There are also weekly Pilates, Yoga and ballet
activities for local residents.

Five fund raising events were held durin8 2023.
These were all successful.
The village Christma5 Lights were again
supported by the Hall but this year fully funded
by donations.
The external claddin8 of the hall was renewed to
protect its long term survival.

A long term development plan for the hall was
produced. In particular it was determined that
the wooden external cladding needed
replacement. This was achieved in September
2023

contained c£5600.
