A$ in prevlous years there 1$ still ongoing concern about the number of people using the hall, but since the change twstees away from the previous leadership, this does seem to be Improvlng, but it is a very slow process as people lake Ihelr time lo come back and feel welcome. Section D Achievements and performance Surnmary of tho maln achlevaments of thg charlty durlng the year Throughout Ihg year the trustee9 have been working to keep the hall open and operational. There have been many changes, to both the trustee8 and the usage of the hall. Overall, it has proven lo be a ¢hallenglng year. The arrangement with the Matthew Rose Caterlng, the company operating the bar and take away. came to a disappointing end, due lo the inablllty lo Strlke a satisfactory lease 8greement that ¢overed costs- wth them leaving the property o￿ng over £1300 that we are yel lo recov8r. This arrangement was not a5 fruitful as the previous management expected 11 lo be, and has put PH in a precarious pos11ion. We have lost the servic8s of Ollver Parody and John Chapman a5 trustees, and I'd like lo record our thanks for all th8 help Ih8y gave in any capacity lo CPH. Although we lost their services we have galned the help of J8n Clayton as a trustee. and Kay Edgerton as a Volun18er. While we h8ve lost the outside rnanagement d the bar, we have brought 11 back in house. and have welcomed back PalTicia Taylor, as a trustee, and Lousie Robinson as a volunteer to ensure the bar remains open for events and al kqa81 once a week on Frlday5 to bring In regular Income. So. I'd like to Ihank them for volunteering. This seems to be a popular change and has seen an increase in the number of members of the community using the bar when il 1$ open on Friday eveningg. We held a very well attended -cleaning up Morning. wher8 a team of 11, Irus18es and the commLtnity, ¢ame togethgr to gDie Ihe axt8mal area of the hall and ¢arpark elc a blg Ildy up. Most recently the trustees ran a very popular and well attended Jumble 8al8, and we have our popular Christma8 Fayre coming up In Novèmber. We haven't managed lo attract many new Iruslees, and are oporaling with the minlmum number requlred, 5, whllsl we seek out mora. W8 have also failed to brlng inlr8cruS1 a Treasurer, having been let down by mo than 1 person w#h thls posllion. To help share the wort(load, wo are always looking for new Trustees. Thls year hasn't been the busiest regarding grants and fiJnding for work on the Hall. but we dld complete the work to Install a new unlsex disabled tollel in the bar ar&a, that was funded by the Foyle Foundation Grant received in 2024- which we are very grateful for. In this year we have secured one grant. from the Ellesm8r8 L8agu8 of Friends, for £2500, to h6lp renoval8 the back room and baverage kitchen - which once compl8te will almost finish a modernislng of the whole building - Id like to give thanks lo th6 League of Friends for their most generou5 donation. During the year, resejves ￿dUced from £21,443 to £6,309 as a result of a challenglng operating environment. including lower hall usage and the loss of incom6 from the caterlng and bar arrangement. As reserve8 fell below the target level, the trustees formally suspended the ￿serveS policy in May 2025 whilst th8y reviewed the charity's financial position and futuro plans. Followlng th18 revlew, and wlth plans In place to strengthen the charfty's financlal su8tainablllty through increased communty use and fundraislng acllvltles, the truslees voted lo reinstated the reseNes policy in March 2026 wth effect from 1st September 2026.
