Treasurers Report to the 2024 AGM of

Church and Chetwynd Aston Village Hall

The accounting period for this report starts on the 1[st] of January 2024 and finishes on the 31[st] December 2024.

The year has been another fantastic year for the hall. The financial situation is very strong considering what has been spent and the improvements that have been made both to the internal and external of the hall and grounds in this financial year. The Co-op loan has now been fully repaid and the figures include the cost of replacing electrical items due to a storm in September. It does not include the insurance settlement which arrived in January.

During the year there has been a lot of maintenance work done including upgrades and ensuring that the hall is compliant with all health and safety regulations. The committee has also spent heavily on capital items which are explained later in this report.

Income figures.

I have broken down the income into distinct areas this is so that we can clearly see where we are generating income which is used to maintain the hall and hopefully enhance the facilities further.

Capital Expenditure.

This for the year was £15,553.40 and included the following items but not exclusively,

Excess of Expenditure over Income.

For the year ending 31[st] December 2024 the excess of expenditure over income was £2,717.35

This was expected but at the lower end of my predictions and although to most people it looks poor in reality it is not. The hall still has substantial cash holdings, excellent storage for all of the equipment that we now have, two entrances for disabled access, the main hall floor has been refurbished and my favourite the glass washing machine.

Maintenance.

A maintenance programme is in place and although for the year the expenditure was much higher than in previous years all of the work has improved the outlook of the hall and or updated facilities. Below are a few of the items that make up this section of expenditure.

Grants.

During the year we had grants from the following organisations

Folk Group.

During the year the folk group have paid the cost of several artists amounting to some £1800 without claiming this back. This has been a substantial benefit to the hall, allowing us to retain all of the takings.

Future Work.

Regarding this I call on the committee and the general public if you have any ideas that may enhance the operation or appearance of the hall can you please let the committee know.

The hall is a community based charity and as such is always looking to enhance user’s experience.

Hall Finances Going Forward.

I see no reason why the hall should not continue operations as it has done for many years. The hall has strong cash flow and balances compared to other groups that I deal with and the land and building are owned by the charity.

Conclusion.

I see no logical reason why the hall should not continue in its present format. I certify that these accounts are a true and accurate reflection of the affairs of the village hall for the above stated period which have been audited.

If anyone would like a copy could you please see me after the meeting has been closed.

Any Questions?

If you wish to ask a question but would prefer to discuss it outside of this meeting I will be available.

This concludes the finance report.

24 St Stephens Way Selly Oak Bimiingham 8" April 2025. To The Management Committee Church & Chetwynd Aston Village Hall Wallshead Way Church Aston Newport I Kasia Niedzelska confinn that I have audited the books of the hall for the year ending on 31" December 20?4 and here are my findings. l. The accounts are presented in a regulatory format and are to understand. 2. All paymellts are arjnotated with either a payment reference number or the cheque number an4 the date that the item was issued. This has been randomly checked back against bank statements and cheque book stubs to confirm a match. 3. All credits have been recorded correcdy both in paper forniat and through an excel spreadsheet. 4. All end of year balances match the appropriate bank statements. In my opinion the figures stated are a trne reflection of the income and expenditure that the hall has received and paid for this financial year. Ja Kasia Niedzelska
