Humshaugh Children’s Playing Field Trust Chair report 2022-2023

Not quite sure where the last twelve months have gone, but here we are again at our AGM!

Everything seems to have gone successfully, and without wanting to sound repetitive from previous years, most things are fairly similar.

The car wash was again a success, and although a bit quieter than previous years, possibly because of the Sunday rather than a Saturday, it was still a nice little earner.

It was decided not to do the second date, as it does take quite a lot of energy just doing one!

We had one Quiz, that wasn’t the best attended, some tough questions, but good fun, and put a few well needed pounds into the coffers.

The fireworks night was again, absolutely fantastic!

The change of entry seemed to work well, having more light and extra marshals also made it a safe, successful night.

The card machine, that Mr Ellis acquired, did bring an up to date addition to the night, though a bit of trial this time, I think we can offer this more extensively this coming display, and possibly for other functions.

Mr Batey put on, again, a fantastic display, and will I try and record his finale dance next time as Armageddon erupts!!!!!!!

A huge thanks to Ian, who I know is planning 2023’s display already, for his time and dedication to this wonderful event.

Thanks must also go to the school for the use of the premises, which is a huge asset, Tim Ellis for attaining the beef and David from the Crown for stepping in with the soup, after Walwick Hall let us down, which was particularly good, burger boxes and other sundries for the night.

Many volunteers also were willing to help, and a huge thanks to them all.

Looking forward to this year’s event

Project wise, I am happy to report that this has now been concluded.

The cycle track and repairs to the play equipment all finished, paid for and grant claimed.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to this, in our well used and fabulous open space, we manage for the children of the village.

The two remaining cracked Willow trees are scheduled for dismantling in the near future.

Bit of a delay as we wait for a date from Power Grid, to perform an outage, so the work can be done safely.

I have personally asked several people this year, to leave the area, along with their dogs!! Politely acknowledging that I understand the dogs can’t read.

One other concern this year has been the Field maintenance, or lack of it!!!

We will cover this in the meeting following the AGM.

In conclusion, can I again sincerely thank you all for your help and support over the past year, not easy as most of us have full time jobs, and I think greatly appreciated by the children.

Regards

Tim

Independent examiner's ￿F)ort notes: In order to prepare the report I followed the recommendations from the Charity Commission Booklet CC32 to chetk the accountsl charity position for the year ended 3111123 I have had sight of all required documentation such as minutes of meetin8/bank records etc and also met with three of the trustees to obtain a clear picture of how the charity operated. I have seen and checked all accounting records for the year shown above and compared these with other years, details to confirm accounting continuity. The records are all in good order and there are no points to advise on. This examination is required by the Charity Commisslon due to the level of Income received in the vear following receipt of the considerable Northumberland County Council grant.
