The Hall opened up again in May 2021 after yet another kKkdown for Village Halls.
although not fully open we had Keep Fit and Jack & Jill's toddler group being allowed
to use the hall.
Karate then started back in June and the monthly Quiz night resumed in August,
although we'd been successfully having those by ZcK)m early in the year, Crochet &
Chatter group came bad( in September and the monthly Bingo's returned in October.
In September we hosted Heather and Robert Congreve's Mcmillan Coffee moming
over INrfO days and held the Breast Cancer Aftemoon tea event On￿ again.
Due to the Lockdowns we have again had very little in the way of private hirings for
social events this last year alihough there were weddings in August and
September, the first was for a village bride and everyone had a great time, with the
second one the hall helFed with the catering and in making the couple's wedding day
a happy event There's a glimmer of people wanting to use us again for their social
events. a 70 Birthday Party is tM)oked in for this July.
The Hall also helped the village by being the contact wint for medicine collections
while the local shop was being r&fitted for Morrisons.
For the first time we entertained the BBC with the Radio 4 programme "Any
Questions" in December.
Our Sunday Lunches continued to be successful our first session ending in May
2021 and re-starting again in the November, the most recent was yesterday for
Motherfs Day. These lunches ￿)uldn't happen without our volunteers giving up their
time and I thank all of you for your efft)rts.
In conclusion I must say that I think we've kept our charitable aims by still helping in
the community where and when we could in spite of the restrictions COVID gave us
and I must end by thanking the committee for all their hard work this last year and I
look forward to working with them again into 2022.
Thank you...
